---

I am outraged over this new law trending in Colorado! It is inconceivable that living in a State that promotes alcohol use with more breweries than any other state, offers open carry of firearms, and taxes recreational marijuana less than it does tobacco, to then allow the use of MJ in bars and restaurants and within designated smoking areas?!?!?

WTF??? I can’t enjoy a cigar without being confined to my own home, but it’s OK to use MJ in yoga galleries, art galleries, restaurants & bars, and roll a doobie on the deck???

What's the Cigar Right of America's position on this one?

Thankfully A72 was not passed in CO, but in the process Prop 300 was overlooked! How does this effect the B&M's? Does this new law also allow MJ use in the cigar shops? Will we as cigar enthusiasts have to sit next to a brother of the leaf blazing up a doobie?

The tax on recreational MJ and tobacco should be the same. The tax on tobacco should be reduced to the same as recreational MJ!

That is a bunch of horse shiite as far as I'm concerned too. I acutally am ok with smoking limitations. If I'm in a restaraunt I don't necessarily want to smell your Winstons or acapulco gold for that matter.

If I want something someone else has it's always better to rail against them and say they shouldn't than it is to simply fight for what I want.

In a sad way this reminds me of the hilarious SNL skit from back in 2006.

I've read the article, and many others numerous times.

Quote:
“This is about personal responsibility and respecting adults who want to have a place to enjoy cannabis.”

I'm an adult most of the time. I want a to have a place to enjoy tobacco.

Even though the measure compares itself to alcohol use, the new MJ use license/permit is NOT as restrictive as it is with tobacco! It is a clear (or should I say smoky) violation of the Clean Air Act passed years ago. But since MJ is for medical use it's given a pass.

First time I saw an article on this it said smoking MJ would not be permitted anywhere smoking is not permitted now only "other uses such as edibles".

From the article...

"Patrons at participating bars could use pot inside as long as it isn’t smoked. The law does provide for the possibility of outside smoking areas under restrictive circumstances. The law also allows for non-service establishments, such as yoga galleries or art galleries, to set up pot-smoking areas or hold events serving both pot and food and drink.

Mason Tvert, a spokesman for the national Marijuana Policy Project and a Denver proponent of the consumption law, said the measure would reduce instances of tourists smoking pot on sidewalks and in parks because they have nowhere private to consume weed."

Who cares if there's no place to consume tobacco right? It's all about the tourism and MJ tax dollars

I think what it really comes down to is, pot is f*cking good man...

I mean, cigars are enjoyable but

they don't have any medicinal value

they contain addictive ingredients

they smoke for 1+ hour vs. a 10 second bowl or a 5 min. joint

some of them smell downright horrific

and pot's f*cking good man... smells good, tastes good, makes you feel good, brings people together, clarifies thinking, relieves stress, alleviates nausea, aides sleeping, reduces dependancy on narcotics and other manufactured drugs, and did I mention it's f*cking good?

The thing I find amazing is this:
Go into a bedroom, with a couple people, and smoke a few fat joints.
The next morning......you won't smell a thing.

Some one cig in the same bedroom, and it will stink for days.

Legal to buy, and now legal for the new generation of beatniks to smoke in yoga galleries, art galleries, bars & restaurants, but still illegal to send in the mail.

Medical MJ is permitted in MI.

You can't smell the pot because of the smell of pizza and burnt cookie dough.

Quality over quantity buddy. The MJ stink lasts as long as tobacco. MJ just has a sweater burnt smell compared to the sour bitter, charcoal smell left from tobacco, but it still lingers as much.

I don't recommend stopping at the local pub after visiting the dispensary, and leaving the product in your vehicle. A small amount of unlit flower can emit aromas a cigarette or cigar smoke can not disguise. It's often the cause of Driving Impaired fines with less than 0.05 in alcohol. This is the big grey area with determining MJ use and impairment while driving.

MJ stinks. It stinks while transporting from the dispensary. It sinks after smoking it. The "stink factor" is no excuse from allowing one to enjoy a cigar in the same place as one can blaze up a doobie, or vape. It's discriminatory and hypocritical.
