Cigar suggestions for groomsmen

Hello ladies and gents,

I am recently engaged and I am looking for OPINIONS on cigars for my wedding party. They will probably be for use at or before my bachelors party. None of my groomsmen are really into cigars, they may smoke 1-2 times per year. Although I want to buy something nice to smoke with my closest friends and family, I do not want to waste money on cigars that are going to be smoked for 20 minutes and discarded (Im afraid this is going to be the case).

What would you all buy? I am comfortable financially but do not have tons of extra cash to throw away as weddings are pricey.

I am still torn about still buying something higher end ($20+ per stick) and chalking up to a good gesture and the groomsmen can do as the please, or getting something middle of the road and not having heartache when they basically throw out a 10-15$ cigar.

Thanks in advance

If none of the groomsmen are really into cigars, then don't over think or over-spend. Buy some Fuente Añejo 46's. No matter what you buy, a few will end up in the ashtray in 15min anyway.

5 Vegas A are cheap and, for me, pretty good. $2.00 or less each in the auctions.

That would be a waste of some nice Anejos.

Better chance of them being liked than a cheap $2 cigar or Swishers. Buy what you smoke.

LFD DL Chisels.

If they are going to toss it after 15 minutes, you might as well have some fun watching.

Something mild, you don't want green groomsman. Montecristo white, Cabaiguan,
Dunhill Aged, EP Carrillo New Wave, just to name a few.

I'd go Padron X000. Great cigar at a good price.

Get some Cubans if you can. It may make them reconsider pitching it.

Arturo Fuente 8-5-8....$6-8 a cigar. Better if you buy a box.

If you can get cubans, a box of monte 5s or 4s are cheapish, smallish, and would probably feel special for most casual cigar fans. If its NC only, I would go for AF Work of Art Maduros. A little more expensive than Monte 4s, but still a fun cigar that won't knock you off your feet.

I would personally go with a smaller vitola cigar, something enjoyable. I second the Dunhill Aged Choooch mentioned as well as the Fuente Work of Art Maduros. Also for newbs I am a fan of the Dunhill signed range petit coronas; really any petite corona for that matter because they're small and really only a 20-30 minute smoke so even if they get tossed it'll more than likely be tossed right when it needs to.

You could also do the Davidoff short filler primeros or the padron corticos. If the LFD LA Nox shorts are available those are not bad either and go for about $30 a five pack.

LFD Colorado Oscuro #2 or #3. Is a good quality, medium cigar for around $7-$8 each.

If they aren't regular cigar consumers, get the project and/or odyssey from ramon bueso. Good price and decent sticks. Do best with a little rest so if you just got engaged, buy and stash that box now!

I picked up a Oliva Serie V sampler on the auction last night and was thinking it might be good for the groomsman gift.

It looks like it comes in a nice box and is a decent cigar. Assuming you have 4-5 groomsmen or buy a couple if more. Pull the box out let them pick a size based on order in wedding line. $37.50 on the mothership but I picked it up on auction last night for less. Then you can have them sign the box with a message and have a nice keepsake for yourself.

I know hnixon was kidding, but I still think a lot of suggestions are just way too full strength for nonsmokers to get past a couple of draws.

Ashton Classic wouldn't be bad but you can't go wrong with any AF with the green bars for price sake. The Ashton's are light enough that anyone could enjoy them, maybe get a Robusto in order to have a quicker stick and a slightly lower price. If you want to be in the $14 dollar range, there are some very small Opus X's out there that are pretty great.
