Does anyone know what has happened to the pinar del rio fumas. It was one of my favorite cheaper cigars and I can’t find it on any of my usual sites. Cigars International says that they no longer carry it but would give no further information. Does anybody know what has happed to it?

They were remarkably good, yes.

But really, most or all PDR sticks are like that: high quality at cheap prices. Very large bang-for-buck.

I told them that at their booth at CigarFest earlier this year, and asked that they keep up the good work for cheap ba$tards like me. Herfing

I just got a 19-count bundle of their cheap "A-Crop", and am hoping they're as good or better than the Fumas.

I bought some over a year ago and didn't think they were much good- perhaps they have a new run. Seems like everybody is making fumas now, but the only ones I've ever liked were made by Padilla. PDR's value line was nothing to say much about either and they also were noted to burn fast.

UPDATE: I smoked my first one of these in the back of a car containing two pals, while we were on our way to a nice touristy city for a day trip. I almost killed them via smoke inhalation. Holy crap does this thing make a TON of smoke! Really bad in a car, but entertaining when you're outdoors.

The flavor showed definite signs of promise, but was "new" and they'll need a lot of humidor time, I'm betting. A worthy successor to the Fumas though, and seemingly even better.
