I'm all over Built to Spill again. Sometimes they remind me of Neil Young, did an unreal cover of Like a Hurricane, but that wasn't on the play list tonight. But Doug Martsch is great.

Garage D'Or, pretty much Cracker's Greatest Hits, inspired by the Southern Rock song thread. What a great band.

so, Conan, I immediately went to allmusic.com, got a quick primer on Malo and on The Mavericks (whom I had heard of but could not pull up from my mental files), listened to just a couple of short clips, thought I heard a little Orbison style. Then on to my library network where I placed two Malo solo albums and 5 Mav's albums on hold.
By next weekend I should be able to check out much of their work. Initial impression is that I will need to be in the mood, but might become valued additions to my humble collection.

You're right, I do need to be in a certain mood to listen to them but after a while, Raul's voice trumps it all.

I would recommend the albums 'Tennessee' and 'That Much Further West'.
