What does it take for you to buy the whole box?

I just noticed after buying a box today that this was about the 4th time I've bought the box after trying only 1 smoke.
Usually I only buy a box after it becomes a regular in my smoking line up. Every now and then, one is enough!
Then there are times I buy the box so I'll have a few to age.

What motivates you to buy the box?

Usually I have to decide its going to be a regular. But I have bought the occassional box to split with someone or to let them age.

Luv is the answer........Leon

Damn... I wish someone had told me this earlier that you can smoke the boxes. I have only smoke cigars. Now I realize why I occasionally see empty boxes for sale on cbid. Do you have to clip a corner and exactly how do you light the damn things?

I've been known to "buy the box" every now and then.

I have looked at a few boxes...never bought one. Except for a box of "It's a girl" White Owls.

Still trying to get rid of them....kid is 5 now.

I usually try to buy a box at a time for fiscal reasons, but they need to be smokable. The price I bid/pay is commensurate with the quality. That being said, I never pay retail. The closest was a box of PAM Principes and VSG Corona Gordas($150 and $125 respectively). Often I bid cheap on back yard smokes for people who visit. Hell, who am I kidding, I buy a lot of them for everyday smokes (e.g., Original Cubans, Cabanas, Don Tomas Corojo, etc.) Maybe that's why I have so many sticks! I'll buy 5-packs too, but I prefer the box when I can get em.

Gotta like 'em a lot or they gotta be cheap enough to take a chance on. Hoyo de Monterrey, Onyx Reserve, Montecristo and Tabantillas are some recent ones with Tabantillas being the cheapie.

I use to buy boxes at will, and ended up giving away quite a few, so now I almost always make it a policy to get a five pack first at Cbid or try one or two from my local tobacconist, then buy the box.

I buy boxes of $2-3 cigars basically at will, but i bought a box of Fuente 858s just to try. If i think it will be good, i buy a box. If its less that a buck a stick, but i think it might be OK, ill buy a box, i mean come on, whats another humidor?

if your cooler chest is empty, you can't put any cigars in it until you have ritually cleansed it. what you need to do is sit outside under a full moon for one hour minimum, stroking the inside of the chest and in a gentile, but firm tone, say "i won't ever treat you like this again. it is all my fault. please forgive me."

i think it might work with a wife also.

You'll know you are using a gentile tone when your incantation is not preceeded with "Oy".

I usually don't buy a box unless it's a damn good smoke and a regular in my lineup AND I can get a good deal on it. I've bought boxes in the past to split two or three ways as well.
