I really have been enjoying the Fittapaldi cigars lately. I could be wrong, but I think it is a H2000 wrapper. Not sure if that what is doing it for me. They seem to smoke real well, and by that I mean they burn cool and straight. Like most smokes they get a little bitter half way through, but I am becoming more and more accepting to cigars crapping out early as there as so few in this bastardized market that actually hold my interest (my taste buds that is) through the final inches. (my wife says the same about me) While I am on that subject, I find that on any given day I can grab one of those Canaria D’oro turds with no label out of my humidor and smoke that to my finger tips and it taste as good as when it started. For the life of me I don’t understand why they don’t make this smoke anymore. It is so tasty, and so cheap. I probably answered my own question. Seems like a fancy label and a fake dye job are what makes a cigar premier and or popular these days and not the quality of the cigar. I guess we can also apply the same logic to some of the people that post on this site lately. I don’t get it gang. What the hell has been going on here? It seems like every time I check in, with hopes to see quality conversation, my disappointment grows. And for those who don’t know me, and don’t care, stop reading now I’ll save you my sermon on the soapbox. (I knew you would continue though) Anyway, this site more and more resembles one of those books you find on the check out line of a supermarket. Don’t get me wrong, the humor and chiding and such is fun, but the soap opera dramas are ridiculous. What the hell did that woman (e-chick) write? Half way through her farewell address, I called my doc and asked him to prescribe me some anti depressants. I don’t know about you, but as a consumer and or hobbyist the last thing I want to read when I log on is this kind mindless BS drivel. She doesn’t need a cigar forum, she needs a friend or hell maybe a good shrink, definitely a stiff drink and **** maybe a stiff… well let’s move on. . I want to read about cigars and everything related. I want to listen to opinions of those that smoke cigars. I want to enjoy the company of those who want to share their perspectives, ideas and experiences about the hobby and occasionally about their life outside of the cigar world. I want to call out the idiots who do not know a damn thing about this wonderful hobby in hopes to further educate them. Many of you do this real well in your own way. I think that is what makes us memorable to some and forgettable to others. But you can’t become forgettable without being memorable. I know many of us use this forum to practice humor, writing skills, taking frustrations of home or work out on invisible people, or to see how much they can embarrass someone, brag, or maybe to justify their existence. Who the hell knows, but at the end of the day this group needs to decide whether or not to hold each other accountable to maintaining the credibility of this site. The more and more garbage subject matter you let in, the less cigar people you will attract. Subsequently, the board will look less and less like it did 1-2 years ago. By the way, if that’s what the people here what to do, it is not necessarily a bad thing. Who knows maybe there is just no more to say about cigars. Something tells me though that there is enough dissention among those who seemed to like the way it used to be, to address the problem. I really enjoyed this forum during the time I participated on a regular basis. I appreciate and respect many of the folks here (too many to name) and appreciate the times you’ve asked about me and my whereabouts. My reasons for not participating here have less to do with my new family and more to do with the type of conversation that takes place here. Too much crap to file through to get to one good thread. It’s just too much. I can spend an hour on this site and find one good conversation where as a year ago I could have five good conversations in one hour all at the same time. I will always stick my head in from time to time to see what’s going on. Hopefully I can do it more often. In the meantime, best regards to my friends here. Your “pens” are as sharp as ever. I would be hard pressed to challenge many of you today. I beg of you to give me reason to try. All the best – Ryan

Ryan, nice post. Two years ago I was just lurking on the forum pages and bidding my heart out. The group on the Forum seemed so tight that I was afraid to break in and introduce myself. I read many of your posts and am glad to see you post again.
As for the Habano 2000 wrapper, do you really think it's that good? The only smokes I've had with it, I haven't really cared for. I don't know if it was the wrapper or the filler(I can't even remember what the brand was).

Hello wanyburger.

Smoked a box of the Henry Clay Mirabelle with H2000 wrapper. Not bad, but not memorable. I paid $66, and IMHO, there's much better available for that price.

Nice post burger. Good to see you,& your honest, unadulterated, & intelligent posts.

I've got a 5er or 2 of a couple Fits, that I have resting. Did try one a few months ago, and I'm hoping some time will improve a decent smoke further. Have you tried the El Ricos? One of my all time Favs was the Carlin, and this is a close subst. for me.

He don't post often but when he does... Actually, I agree with wany's comments. This is after all a cigar board and the "cigars and related" forum should be mostly cigar related. The addition of an "open forum" could help alleviate a lot of the non-cigar posts that end up on this board. my 2 cents.

Hellooo.. this is an open forum on the internet.. I agree with you Wanny that many posts are a waste of time for those of us that are experienced or think this is a forum for only educated or knowledgable cigar nuts.. Many "newbies" are unaware of the search the boards feature and etc.. The E-chick thing was a joke I agree, but to not expect that kind of stuff on an open forun is unrealistic. Maybe you should seek a forum where you need to qualify to ask a question before you submit it to the forum. Read the first thread or two or the subject and disregard if you are not interested. There are many, many people in this world with different opinions, knowledge, and resources that differ from you. If you do not like the content on this forum why do you post? Reply to what you wish, disregard what is crap//
JHMO - seriously what I think not a slam.. have a good one Wanny !!

Good to see your still kickin Wany. I enjoy the Mirabelles but more so the Monte fer de lance. The best H2000 wrapper out there.

Wany- I recently purchased a 5 pak of the Fittipaldi and found them to be downright tasty, nicely constructed with a good burn that left a cool, clean feel in my mouth. The nice part was they were a real bargain here, so I indulged soon afterward in another 5 pak. Next stop (if I see consistency) is a whole box of 'em.

Now, who says that a celebrity can't put out something with their name stuck on the band that isn't decent quality? Take that, Norris!

PS- My wife is Brazilian, loves anything from her native country, so she even puts up with this smoke. Now, if only Pele could produce something along the same lines...

that's some good stuff to think about, Wany ... each of us has his (or her) own perspective, tastes, likes and dislikes, reasons for participating on the board (or not) etc ...

When I consider what I like best about participating here, I think of my favorite local store ... a large and diverse number of guys go there, some daily, some less often, some only smile and say hello as they enter and browse, or leave with their baggies and boxes of 'gars and some are more like I am, and tend to sit in one of the easy chairs near the window, light a stogie, watch the world walk by, and chat with fellow smokers who are hanging out ... a lot of the talk is about cigars, some is about life in general, and some is about the passers-by outside (one regular even has small binoculars to better observe certain of the passers-by as they get a ways into the parking lot) ...

Wany's point is entirely valid for Wany and may be a great deal like some of the others here ... I, however, would miss the humor and the comraderie that some of the other chat brings if we were to confine ourselves to a discussion of cigars alone ... eleltea, xibbumbero, and SammyDaddy, for example, are guys who absolutely crack me up ... and especiall after his "aging adolescents' comment, I can't wait to meet jjohnson and duke it out with the rubber-band machine guns ... of course, we'll have 'gars clenched in our teeth while firing, just to keep it on the (cigar) level.

I agree, though, that if too much foolin' around began, I'd be gone too ... after all, our enjoyment of cigars is the common thread among us, but all of the other threads of our lives are worthwhile topics too ... that's just my $.02 worth ... each of you have valid perspectives too ... some similar to mine, some not, some similar to Wany's, some not, some different that either of us ... I just wish there were some way to accomodate EVERYONEs concept of how this place oughta be ...

finally, I gotta admit that I miss e-Chick ... I think she brought a livliness here we don't get enough of otherwise and was sorta a breath of fresh air in our stale-cigar-smoke corner of the world ... thread-jacking and all, I enjoyed her posts ...
