For a single cigar, that is a bargain. I've plunked down $8 and more for singles at the local retailer many times. A LGC serie costs more than $6.50. I've never smoked one of these so I would gladly pay $6.60 for one. They have those Padron 1964 or whatever at the retailer for $18 a pop. Some day I'll sneak a 20 outta the wifes purse and try one of those. In the meantime I'll smoke my Diesels and other cheapies from this site. Someone out there willing to send me one for $6.60 total. Then send me one. PUT UP or SHUT UP about how you can get one for 50 cents.

Thats a lot a dough for a cigar butt! ;o)

Seriously, although I really like the Hemminways, they are not the second coming that many would have you believe.

I think they are somewhat worth the retail price but not more than that. Very few things can live up to that kind of hype.

I've never had the Short Story so I picked one up today for $5.50 at my local shop. They seemd to be pretty well stocked on Fuente items right now. Barry

this is one of those horses that's been beat to death or nearly so ... prices at your local store are dependent more on the taxes charged in your area than by any other factor ... Short Stories here in Calif are significantly higher at every local store than any price mentioned above for the simple reason that the tax here is well beyond confiscatory and rising.

CA and WA are both outrageous in the tobacco tax department to be sure.

But as was said in another thread, a simple search on the net will yield a wealth of retailers selling these somewhat overrated smokes at resonable prices.

The best protest to the rising tobacco taxes in your area is a migration to buying 100% off the web! I know it sucks for your local merchants, but hell! We are talking serious denero here!

California hostage here. 100% web buyer for my humidor stock. Sometimes I get caught without a stogie and a reason to smoke one and have to bribe the state to get one.

You know, considering the fact that most of us envibe on cigars and our favorite alcoholic beverage on many occasions, don't you think it would be a good idea to allow us forum users to be able to EDIT our PREVIOUS POSTS?

Come on CBID webmaster! I am tired of looking like an idiot in public!....LOL!!!

When I first started bidding here, I never paid more than $5.00 per for SSN…and that was only one time. The most I paid for an SSM was $5.50. But for shorter smokes, I prefer the BSM in the Hemingway line. Of course ymmv.
