When we look back on history we can clearly see where instances of "everyone must like us" politics, jaundiced our otherwise clear vision. We are a superpower among also rans, like it or not. We have a duty to utilize the power we have been intrusted with and do what must be done even when it isn't popular. Even if it means we must carry the burden of sacrifice upon our shoulders. The last time we had a president who insisted upon winning the hearts and minds of the European World we gave secrets to China, gave Korea the raw materials to build Nukes and as soon as our nose was blooded in Africa we pulled out. We left our area of responsibility short of not only winning the peace but of achieving anything close to victory.
The one thing the Republicans seem to understand better than the Democrats of today, the roles use to be reversed you know, is that we must stand tall and rigid in the face of those that won't act until it's too late to do so.
Kerry scares me. He has no backbone and best I can tell has always voted wrong on military issues. If we lived in the world of the mid-eighties I'd say he'd be a good man for the job, but not now, not today.
The debates are a worthless waste of time when it comes right down to it. Kerry and Edwards are both Lawyers. Have you ever met a lawyer that couldn't talk? I think Kerry is a fantastic debator, but he's not the man to lead this country in these trying times. If he wins I'll stand behind him, I pray that he doesn't.
