OK all of you folks that got the Rosada's... those same shops should have the 858 sungrowns. I would like to pick up as many as I can get. If you are one of those folks that was getting piles of them and can help me out, email me... please. :-)

Wait... Is this a different cigar from what I traded you earlier? If it's different, what's different? Is another round going out to the stores or something? I'll more than gladly go get more if I know they are there...

The 858 Sungrown Rosada had a red band on the boot.
These are the regular sun growns with the black boot.

Did I trade with you? I am having screen name-to- real name asphyxia.

Yeah I we traded. I sent you 2 of the red footed ones. Are the black foot ones just as hard to come by? If so then maybe I'll have to be making another trip this weekend.

And are they or should they be out now? In the same two box quantity? I'll probably go to Memphis this weekend to find out what's in... Probably go to Memphis anyway. I'll check for ya. These look *exactly* the same, except they are... wait... what exactly IS the difference?

Hey Swimnaked,
The only difference, is the wrapper is darker, and there will be a BLACK ribbon, at the foot, instead of the red one. I thought that they were not going to release any this year though. But if you find any, in Memphis let me know.

They are "NOT" scheduled to realease 858 SG's. Not to be confused with the Rosada's.

If you do find some in Memphis - Please keep me in mind! =)

Will do billy.

I did see some black foot cigars there, but I think it was the Chateau Fuente or something like that. A bit bigger than the 858 SG Rosada. Anyway, I think I'll be in the area this weekend, and I'll take a look. Don't have much money to spend but I'll do what I can if they have them.

And I'll let you know Homebrew.

Back on topic:

mrtelcom, the picture with the 858sg Rosada (red foot) and the black foot cigars above... are those the black foots you're looking for? I don't remember seeing those at the shop when I was there, but I'm going to be going anyway, so I'll be glad to check. I just want to nail down what I'm looking for so I don't spend $50 on something you weren't asking for.

Swim -
You got it right on the picture forum.
The 858SG is easily distinguishable from the other Fuente sun grown products by the 858 embossed on the cello. It should also be in a wooden box like the other 858's, have cedar, and of course the black foot.
I would be very surprised if you find them, although they were sent to the same stores that got the Rosadas.
Even if they did go to the store, they could already be gone, or, he may be holding them back until the holidays.
Good luck.

It can be confusing with Fuente, Don Carlos, Hemmingway, Anejo etc. etc. etc.

I have a copy and paste job that may help:

The band alone cannot determine what line a Fuente is from. Here are the general rules regarding the color of the bottom of the band:

Green (no cedar wrap) - Regular Fuente line with Cameroon wrapper.

Green with cedar wrap - Regular Fuente chateau line. Connecticut shade wrapper.

Black with cedar wrap and black ribbon on foot- Sun Grown line with sun grown Ecuadorian wrapper

Black perfecto - Hemingway line

Black non-perfecto without cedar - Don Carlos (note, there are some belicosos in this line).

White - Anejo original release. Exception here is the #77 which is a torp with a square foot with a red ribbon on the foot. It is a new release but without cedar.

White with cedar wrap and red ribbon on foot- Anejo new releases.

Hope this helps!

Found this on a different cigar board and found it very useful myself!

Yesterday I had a green banded, cedar wrapped w/ green ribbon...but it wasn't a Conn. shade. This was darker than the ace of Spades and was one hella smoke! With the new Anjeo's and this one I described...my faith in AF is restored!

Look for my pic..."they're here"...you'll see.

I could've been SG, but I'd swear that was maddie to the bone. No way it was Conn..

Oh, So that white banded Fuente, with a red ribbon on the foot, and the boxed press from the foot, up to a rounded headand cap, is an original release Anejo. That I just got today :?)

P.S. Nope it wasn't from a shop. Or I would have gotten all they had.

Homebrew --- that sounds like a Shark 77 to me, not an original release Anejo ...

The original release Anejo's are very hard to find, and are the ONLY ones with the seven year aged wrapper (aged in used anejo oak casks) ... and if you can find them, usually go for around $20 to $30 each ... as they are no longer produced that way.

They are just in cello ... with no other frills or markings.
