I'm in the market for a new lighter. My colibri just fell apart on me!!! Whats your favorite? I had a Nibo that only lasted 3 days that I had won from another auction site. Not sure if its me but I don't seem to have too much luck with lighters!!

spend the money and get a S.T. Dupont X-tend and you will never ask about lighters again.........

Heynow

The duponts are a bit pricey for me but I get your point.
You get what you pay for. I do have an old Ligne series that was my fathers but it is a flame and not a torch.

Get the smiley face torch CI carries (I've seen it here, too). About $10. I have two, and they have yet to fail me (one I got with a magazine sub., it's the same basic model).

#10 Go figure. Mine have been solid. I'd normally have added the $3 Ronson, but word has it few folks, if any, can find it where it used to be sold (hint: think stores with a greeter).

RE #12-

Rumor has it that Wal-Mart no longer carries the Ronson JetLite.

Most Rite-Aid, CVS and Longs pharmacies do though. Costs about a buck more there, so $3.95.

not impressed at all with colibri or xikar fuel. the First Light stuff that goes up for auction here has resurected a number of lighters of mine that i assumed were trash because of the 'brand name' fuel listed above.

Vector with the Perdomo name inscribed on it. I am talking about the "tabletop" version, which is quite big, but can actually be carried in your jeans pocket. CI has it as a freebie now and it comes up for auction on CBid too.!

Like I said in post #18, unconfirmed rumor.

Could be a regional thing too.

A lot of Wal-Marts seem to no longer carry them though. Ones around here don't even cary butane anymore (the butane was also from Ronson so it could be that they are no longer carrying any Ronson products.)

Was discussed in the following thread a few weeks ago:

#21 Got a Perdomo-branded Vector triple flame at a Perdomo event in Washington. Thing worked great for a month. Since then, no amount of purging, cleaning, trying different fuels, etc. will get the damned thing to work. I've basically given up on it. Maybe if they come back to the same place I'll try to get another. This lighter is a total POS.

Stay away from "C" lighters... overpriced made in China/Korea Pieces of SHIIIIIITE... mine have been out for service so many times, its ridiculous... they are now my "backup" lighters for when my Xikar and Lotus are out of gas

for the money - ya can't go wrong with a Xikar... small gas tank, but - heck ya can get a "classy" looking lighter for cheap...

for a bit more money, Lotus L200 lighters - huge tank, dependable, and it can light up a stick like a mofo

Always good to have a cheapie (…but reliable…) lighter when you’re out and about but everytime I go to Wally World I either forget to look for the cheapie Ronson or they’re out. d'oh! Then again, I have a bunch of new lighters so should go through that box first.

Jetline are pretty solid. I have a Prometheus that is all banged up but my favorite with consistent perfect dual flame every time.

+1

I bought these Eagle single torch lighters people on here told me about. A pack of 5 is (was) about $15 or so. I bought three big 14oz cans of some cheap butane that was on clearance on Amazon (I think it was $8 for the whole pack), and they work great. Typically last about a year if I can keep from losing them. Light every time. When it goes bad, toss it. I lose one, no big loss.

Six or 7 years ago I won 4 Xikar lighters for surprisingly cheap. Mebbe not cheap, cheap but for a Xikar, it was a GREAT price! Under $10 iirc. I ended giving 3 of them away.

Zippo bought RONSON IN 2010 !!!

I THINK THEY HADA MASSIVE WAREHOUSE FILLED WITH " "OLD NEW STOCK" THAT was sold off over 2010-2011...
Then ZIPPO STARTED PRODUCTION AND THEY WENT TO COMPLETE CRAP EVER SINCE...

The MORIETTI QUAD FLAME ALSO HAS A HEAVY D.U.T.Y.
CIGAR PUNCH ON THE BOTTOM OF IT THAT WORKS FANTASTIC...LIGHTER WILL BREAK AFTER 4-6 YEARS BUT
JUST YAKE YOUR FUEL CANNISTER AND PUSH IT DOWN ON EACH OF THE QUAD LIGHTER HEADS TO CLEAN THEM OUT 2-3 TIMES A YEAR ..
( MAKE SURE THE HEads are cool, room temp...not hot as **** after using the lighter, that could explode....but certain IDJITs would try that with out thinking first)

The cigar punches never break...
I keep my two? Broken ones around to use the cigar punch...

I have at least 20-25 of them, I got them super cheap yrs ago...now they are $24.95 retail on cigars international.

I agree, I accidently bought 2 Perdomo lighters (gift set) and 1 took a dump 2 weeks later, the other one is hanging on by a fine fine thread.

Why did CBid stop auctioning butane?

I used to get it cheap here. *sad face*
