The PASS has completed its Domestic Journey !!

We are still waiting for Billy Smith to be done with his surgery and recovery - and he will do a "Virtual" PASS and select any item from the 4 Lists and handle his TAKES and PUTS just like everyone else who participated.

The PASS covered a distance of more than 7000 miles !!!!

It made 17 stops in its journey from Atlantic to Pacific and back to New Jersey.

When you combine all of the postings regarding the PASS in all Sections (remember we broke it into smaller groups to make it easier and quicker to load) - but we are approaching 500 POSTINGS !! on this combined thread.

46 Cigars left New Jersey - broken down into 4 groups (Habana, Ultra Premium, Super Premium and Premium) - ranging in price from a low of $8 per stick to as much as $25 ++++ per cigar.

Over 400 (FOUR HUNDRED ) Cigars came back to New Jersey as a result of the PASS ! ! ! ! ! ! A word of explanation here - Billy Smith and Big Jeff EACH contributed aprox 100 Cigars EACH for distribution to our Troops in IRAQ, Afghanistan and Quatar. Words can never be adequate to describe the admiration I have for these 2 Brethren of the PASS !!!! Billy and Jeff - whatever you need - anytime and anywhere --- it's done !! MEGA HOOAH !!!!!! (Lowman - that means AWESOME and FANTASTIC and OUTSTANDING )..

In addition, there were aprox 50 more cigars that were included in the "For the TROOPS" bag that travelled with the PASS in addition to another large bag of 60 sticks that were sent from the PASS earlier due to size constraints!!

Bro. Chris Wilhelmi also started a "Host Bag" with cigars meant for me -- I sincerely appreciate Chris's gesture and also all of the Brethren who so GENEROUSLY filled this bag with so many Habanas and Ultra Sticks --- I will smoke one of the Vegas Robaina Torpedos on the Deck Herf this Saturday - and have decided to have a WEST POINT Herf with my group of Firsties (Seniors) who will be graduating and will be commissioned as 2nd LTs in our Army in May !!! However, before they get to light up a stick - I will make them all listen to the Story of the PASS and we will all toast the Brethren of the PASS who made their gift possible.

In addition - there were 2 "Bonus" Bags filled with Cigars donated annonomously by various Brethren - these I will be sending overseas to our Warriors !!

So....... to:
CPWilhelmi who was the 1st - then
Jerry aka JSD1 (Thanks for the HumiBags - what a great play !!) , Rick aka DeadEyeDick, Dave aka Homebrew, Rocco - (of the rival Chicago Mob, bitter rivals of the Jersey Mob), to James aka Octowings (Puff, Puff) to Matt aka Hoagie 55 (feel better real soon) to Dan aka JustDanD (I haven't forgotten your FREE Habana) to my fellow Diamond Crown Brother John Douglas who filled in so admirably when the beetles invaded Georgia (see you next time Robby) , to Mark aka Cooksta2 (AIRBORNE !!!) to DJ aka Ropeman (Papa to the "Little String") to Jersey Bro. Peter aka PT, to one of our Forum's Best contributors - Greg aka Bro. Lowman (remember 17:00 hours is the same as 5:00 PM - see you at the DECK HERF) to Jeff - aka Big Jeff who showed his make-up with his PUTS and Takes and his unbelievable contribution for the Troops ....and finally on to BILLY SMITH ---- All the Way ---and then some ...Get Well Brother Billy !!!! ----- Thank You a Million Times Over !!!!

You have made this PASS everything and more I was hoping it would be --- you have shown your knowledge and sophistication (gained through years of smoking cigars not reading about them) in the finest cigars available in the world today ----- but much more then that -- you have all shown a strength and nobility of character and Honor - you received a package sent from someone you never met and you safeguarded it and treated it as if it were your own personal fortune -- and you added to it and incresed its worth - both in terms of monetary value with all the Bonus Sticks - but the PASS was enriched because it stopped by and was nurtured by all of you named above !!!

Would I do this again --- YES !!!!!! Look for another DocRKS Premium PASS with these kind of Super PREMIUM Cigars in the early Spring ( so we can do without the summer sun situation.)

So start accumulating the "good stuff" -- I know at least 17 Brothers of the Leaf and the PASS who have proven they have the "goods needed to piss in the tall weeds with the Big Dogs !!!!" I bet there are some more out there as well !!!!

Bless you and yours --- and Bless all our Troops - bring them home safely and soon--- HOOAH ! ! !

Roman,

It was an honor to be part of this group. Thanks for including me.

It is amazing how the pass came off virtually flawlessly. I think that speaks to your organization of the pass and the quality and class of the pass members.

Billy and Jeff, awesome play on the sticks to the troops.

I hope you guys have a great time at the deck herf. I'm jealous and wish I could be there.

My best to all the brothers of the pass.......Rocco

roman--i said it several weeks ago and i echo what rocco just wrote...the success of this pass lies in the hours of effort and planning that you put into the event. you should certainly take pride in your work and the pleasure it has brought to all of us. what a blast to follow these smokes around the country (and virtually, the world) with daily, and sometimes hourly posts as to the status of the sacred box. i want to be one of the first to reserve a spot in the spring pass, and wish all the best to all the pass brothers. smoke a fat diamond crown for me at the deck herf, and best regards. john

Jeez, now you have to reserve your spot in the pass 6 months ahead of time.

Doc, maybe you can run the pass like the Jets run their season tickets. Charge everyone $50 to get onto the wait list.

Please reserve my spot.

Doc,

I just wanted to thank you again for giving me the opportunity to participate in your box pass. I really enjoyed every aspect of it from the friendly banter beween the brothers to the actual exchange of cigars.

I learned a lot from my brothers and hope to be able to join your spring pass as well.

I hope to be back enjoying cigars here in another few weeks or so. Enjoy the NJ Deck Herf!!!

Thanks again!

Doc,

Just wanted to say congrats on a masterfully run pass...

I, just like many others, have been glued to this thing that took on its own life (DocRKS-The Pass)...i am sure people will look back at this and see what a memorable experience this was for all (participants and dream-to-someday-be-participants)...

Congrats to you and all DocRKS participants...

Doc said it all.

And organized it all and managed it all. I'm just glad to have been along for the ride. I learned a lot from the "takes and puts" of this pass. Doc set the bar high at the start, and I love a good challenge. I'll be a little more seasoned and ready the next time.

Thanks to all the Brothers Of the Box-Pass Leaf for their great work.

Still waiting for Billy, so it ain't fully over, yet.

Roman,

It was a pleasure to take part in the trade.
I was able to accumulate sever cigars which
I have never had a chance to sample!

Hope you enjoy the gag (HUGE) cigar I sent
along with the "Trick" cigar cutter. You're
gonna need a small damn cigar for that cutter...
but it's pretty neat! I've got another one
here at home.

I truely enjoyed taking part in the pass...
and if you'll have me I'm in for the Spring
Pass.

I may even have to start up one of my
own soon. But please don't start chanting
"Octowings Pass, Octowings Pass"! hehehe

Many Thanks & Puff Puff,
James A. (a.k.a. octowings)

P.S. Enjoy the deck herf to all that go!

Roman I echo the kind words of all those bretheren here. You and yours worked very hard putting this together and it was first class all the way. It was a pleasure to be a part of this pass; the BOTL involved are top notch in my book and definitely worthy of the leaf.

Billy Smith and Big Jeff: What can I say to these outstanding individuals but the ULTIMATE MEGA HOOHA!!!

Cheers to all of you in the Deck Herf 2003. My DC Maximus will be ablaze and XO cognac in hand for the coveted celebration!

I would be honored for consideration in the Spring pass. PS--and I've got more humi-pouches so just let me know how many you need.

Doc, you should have received my contribution to the host bag today. If not, by tomorrow. I unfortunately did not get to participate as a result of bug concerns which coincided with the receipt of the box (go figure), but in the spirit of the pass, felt compelled to oblige the host. I hope you enjoy it.

Would anyone object to Robby doing a virtual pass ???

Since he was originally part of the pass... If all parties involved agree... why not ??

The bug issue was unexpected and is now resolved....

Lowman is it.... are you a Newbie to this Forum --don't believe I ever came across the name before
-- However, your idea has merit and I will certainly extend the Virtual PASS to Bro. Robby if he wishes in ---- all cigars from GA however must score 100% clean on the Bug-O-Meter (LOL).........

Robby - I hope you have kept up on what's in the mix - because after 36 holes of golf today - I am way too tired to type all of that out again !!! Or pick a few cigars you want and I will do my best to accomodate and we can conduct the Virtual PASS that way !!!

Sorry, I didn't want to put anyone on the spot, but I just felt bad for that Robby had drop out. We were all looking forward to the pass. It was very thoughtful of him to bow out of the pass since he did not want to risk "contaminating" the cigars in the pass. If his cigars are not ready for "sharing", I'm sure he has access to getting others... That is if he wishes to go thru with this...

Bro. Low -

You didn't put anyone on the spot -- Robby is CERTAINLY welcomed to a Virtual PASS --- we will work this out between us - No Problems at all.

Now - let's get back to practicing --- if your new digital watch says 19:25 hours --- what time is it in the world of am and pm people ????? (LOL)

I once had an opportunity to move out to your "neck of the woods".... The problem is that I have a sister....and while I do love her with all my heart ---- marriage is definitely not a possibility.... So I stayed out here in Yankee Stadium rather than risk violating any of the customs of the hill people......

Now -all kidding aside --- Welcome to the Spring PASS !!! Homebrew Makes 2.....

Re: Spring Fling '04 - The PASS

I have not added any of the Deck Herf participants to '04 version of The PASS....and yes, there is a reason..... I am looking forward to these Brethren help me at Saturday's Deck Herf to decide 3 issues that transpired during the just completed venture - so owing to the fact that they will serve as the jury for some potential members - I needed the Jersey and PA Brethren of the PASS all to be as unbiased as possible.

Your pre-requisite to getting into the Spring Fling '04 PASS is getting back on your feet and feeling 100% !!!! That's the ONLY thing that should be on your mind now --- you know there will always be room in this venture for a proven brother of the leaf.
