I was just curious what exactly is the normal amount of bonus sticks usually sent with a trade. Also what would be the quality of the sticks (i.e. super premium, premium, not so premium, dog rockets, etc.) Just curious incase I do get to trade I would not want to sell short on the deal and I always aim to please. Thank you in advance for you're help. -Brad-

The amount of bonus sticks should match your inventory IMHO.....for example, my inventory is very low at the moment compared to what I usually have, so I may send a couple of decent extras. I'll send out as many as I can without compromising my stash.

there are lot's of different points of view on this. Some people never send bonus sticks, others always do. I have traded with several people here who never ever send bonus sticks, although they always say they will and are grateful to get yours. Personally, I always do, but I realize it's not required. What is required is that you live up to the spirit of your agreed upon trade. Anything you do as a bonus is a gesture of kindness and a window into your personal generosity, but don't necessarily expect reciprocation, you may not get it...on the other hand, you might get bombed. There is no real etiquette proscribed for it though.

What Danny said, and also agree with Sonny on the size of the home stash at the time of the trade! It is all in fun and nobody has set rules, just be honest and straight forward.

To me it depends on the trade being made somewhat. If the trade is for a small amount, I may only send a few extras. I like to include something the trader is not expecting and that usually means something outstanding. Part of the trade is the unknown factor and the unsolicited genorosity of the brothers here. IMHO

Thank you all for all the information. I kinda felt that it wasnt something that wasnt required but just something you did out of generosity for a fellow cigar smoker. Thank you again

Danny - excellent job describing the bonus stick issue! Way to go! I still want to add my .02 cents.

I send people what I would like to get! In other words, I can't remember (one time) that I did not include a bonus stick. Nor can I remember (one time) not receiving at least one bonus stick.

I gauge bonus stick(s) based on what I am trading. Example: If I am trading Super Premium Sticks then I generally include the same quality stick(s) or higher as bonus(es).

However, if the person I am trading with is new to gars then I will add an assortment.

Bottom Line: What goes around comes around.

Now back to our reguarly scheduled program...

Regards,

B
