I guess this request belongs on the TRADE forum - but it is a strange sort of "Trade". I received a letter today from one of my "sons" from USMA - he is now a Tank Company XO stationed in Iraq and from the tone of the note - there are quite a few of our boys out there who could use a shot of "back home morale" booster.
Many of the Brothers/Sisters here on C-Bid have responded in the past to requests for smokes for the Troops. If you are interested in sending off a stick or two to this Company I mentioned - pls contact me at

and I will forward you the mailing address and names I am referring to.

What's the Trade for the Cigars you send --- only a heart full of great feelings knowing you took the time to do something really nice for some of our troops.

Get you some humi-pouches or a big box size humi-pouch, or you can make your own with two baggies. Put your 'gars in one and leave it open, then stick that one in another baggie with a damp paper towel in it; seal that one. Should work just fine.

I've not been in a tank, but have been in one of the U.S.M.C.'s L.A.V.s in Twentynine Palms, CA.

My brother was attached to that division and got my father, Mike and I special clearance about 12 years ago to take one out for a spin...what a rush! I'm sure THAT won't be happening any time soon again!

It was quite an experience getting suited up and donning the helmet and boots too. Then Mike farted inside and my dad and I rushed for the turret (sp?)...

Seriously though, it did forever etch in my mind how incredible the person must be to work in that type of environment. It was tight quarters, nothing cushy about it, and the thought of the possibility of dying in there...well, let's not go there...

My hat's off to all of our U.S. Military Personel that are out there covering my ass...you ROCK!
