Its fun to watch people on the beach at the end of airport runway get blown off their feet when jets take off. They might have fixed that by now.

Everything runs on time on the Dutch side. Better food on the French side.

Can you give us your home address and tell us how long you will be gone?

Also, since you are traveling its best to leave most of your credit cards at home.

St. Martin is pretty much the hub for distribution on the islands... prices are a little cheaper there... Cigar prices if I remember right were fairly consistent tho... I did pick up a carton of Marlboro Lights for 15 bucks tho.. go figure... Mellow

On the Dutch side there is a small shop DAS Cigars where they sell CC's but also have their own rollers on site. The gentleman makes a very nice barber pole cigar. I purchased a few and enjoyed them. I don't remember their address, but it is not far from the cruise ship terminal. On days the ships are in port, they had a tent and display near the end of the pier. Nice people. Fair pricing. I wish I had purchased more of their on-site rolled. They rested nicely.
If I recall they have a Facebook page as well.

Cindy & i are planning to go in November for our 30th anniversary. We'll be there about a week. Would love some suggestions on what to do.

When we go, we stick mainly to the French side. There are some great restaurants in Marigot, as well as a LCdH shop. Mrs Monkey and I love Orient Beach and the small resort area adjacent, which also has some interesting places to eat, as well as a small grocery. It's easily our favorite island to visit.

Just got back from vacation. The best shop that I found on the Dutch side was Cigar Emporium located at Front Street # 66 Unit 1 Philips burgh St. Marten. They had a full line of real Cubans. The prices were comparable to the cigar magazines. There were a few couches there to sit and relax and smoke. They also said they ship to the states. The best place I found there was Juggies Place (aka the smallest bar in the world). The had 2 can beers and 1 Cuban cigarello for $3 USC. I bough a bundle of the Dominican Toros for $80 USC. Hands down the best cigar I have had in a long time. Juggy said the roll them for his store. I will put up a Juggies separate post.

No. But go to Orient Beach on the French side and you will be fulfilled.
