He is totally unique. Nobody in American politics comes close. My friends on the right believe that Obama was the most divisive President ever, but he has been dislodged. They won't acknowledge it because they agree with Trump, just as the left didn't agree with the right when they claim Obama was a racist divider...wonder if the pendulum will ever swing back to where both sides will try to find common ground...

He prolly still can't believe he won... hope he realizes that he's got a lot of empty seats (more than 500 executive branch jobs with no nominees yet) to fill...unless Bannon has convinced him the country doesn't need people to do those jobs...

Deconstruction starting? If so, it'll be interesting to see if we can function without people in those seats...

Still hasn't filled a large majority of jobs in the executive branch...but he looked and sounded more Presidential last night in his address to Congress...low bar based on his past efforts though...

He challenged himself with this line: "The time for small thinking is over...the time for trivial fights is behind us..."

Thumpher's alternative facts: As your President, it will be America first, and I will represent all Americans. We will use only American steel to complete the Keystone XL pipeline.

Truth: Thumpher can't keep his promises...Just as Thumpher's first executive order on the first day of his Presidency hurt the average American when he repealed an Obama mortgage credit and made it more costly for the average American to buy a home, he has turned his back on another promise to protect America. When he signed the deal to finish the Canada to the gulf pipeline, he insisted that only American steel will be used to complete it. Nope, it's going to use steel from all over the world.

like many things being said, a lot were decided before he took office, including many that he is taking credit for pulling off.
I'm sure he's not the first to take credit rightfully belonging to a predecessor, and I really don't worry about it as long as we benefit.

but people believe it all.

The man isn't dumb...I know he isn't just playing to his base to feed his ego....but, I cannot begin to understand why he does what he does

I'm curious to see the reaction of the lower income/lesser employed who swept him into office when they see his budget proposals.

not to mention medical care in remote rural areas that would have been provided by foreigners.

I really hope Trump figures out how to be President, because he can accomplish some things that would be good for America. I don't think I'll ever "like" him: his vision for America, in general, may possibly create an environment that will hurt most Americans who aren't wealthy, the poor in particular, may minimize our country's leadership role in relation to the world, and ruin many essential relationships with other countries, ones that we need for our mutual benefit and security.

His snarky, loose with facts, reality TV-show host persona is not an effective way to behave as President...I hope that his sideshow doesn't derail some of his plans, especially the infrastructure/jobs creation proposal...it's still early yet, but the sideshow keeps making potholes in the road going forward.

Honestly: for America's sake, Good luck!

Several here keep insisting that Obama was the divider in chief, the most divisive President ever, and point to a seminal moment when they believe the chasm was exposed: when Obama said "I won" when speaking with John Boehner while discussing details of the economic bail-out/recovery plan to rescue America from a catastrophe that Obama created moments after he was sworn in.

But if numbers matter, Trump has said "I won" so many times more than Obama, and in so many places, prolly hundreds of times, the latest of which happened yesterday while Trump was speaking about the House's Healthcare Repeal and Replace plan, Trump now owns the title of Divider in Chief...

Seriously? The cheeto in chief is tweeting promotions of shows on his Twitter feed... shows that then come out partisanly supporting him.

This has not happened before in my lifetime. This is bs.

Trump has never stepped up when he has encountered a set-back, but he's an expert at pointing the finger of blame...this is a way to skewer Ryan and later say, when he needs Ryan, that he didn't say those bad words about Ryan....

...and Fox News may rue the day that it decided to be Trump's big media cheerleader...they don't say much about the FBI investigation...

I'm amazed (not) that there has not been a peep about Trump placing "loyalty watchdogs" in Fed Gov departments...

this makes the Obama haters' chants of "Dear Leader" look like minor leaguers.

Putinesque, n'est-ce pas?

Because he already registered very shortly after he won and is actively running his 2020 campaign. This has to be the earliest that anyone has ever started their re-election campaign. I think it shows just how tenuous he feels about being president.

Al, seriously now....replace Soetoros with Trump and your SPOT ON. Barry could've done GREAT things as our 1st 1/2 Black president. Being of a White mother and Black father he absolutely could've been instrumental in closing the gap of racial understanding....instead he decided to inflame it.

Ask poor Blacks or Whites for that matter if they feel like they're ANY better off after eight years of Barry...While taking away healthcare plans that millions were indeed happy with and could actually AFFORD to USE, they now have this travesty we call Obummercare or more laughingly...The Affordable Care Act ( emphasis on ACT ) As far as our leadership role globally speaking...we couldn't be a BIGGER LAUGHING STOCK.
Then factor in the damage he's done between citizenry and Law Enforcement and you'll see a man that willingly tried to tear this country apart from within. He's nothing but a racist bag of trouble.

So short bus just literally created an office for his son in law.

Yes.

I know... You're all shocked. I mean... he said he was going to "drain the swamp"... yet here we see him not just giving his son in law a job... but creating a role for his son to fill.

Best part... it's a "lean management" role... to help trim that excess in government.

This is ridiculous.

Hehe.

At about this time I would like to draw the "but Clinton would have been worse!" Line.

I don't care how corrupt any of these idiots think Clinton was. Trump has now crossed the "....but Clinton" line ... he has actually proven, through ridiculous nepotism, that he is actually more corrupt than anything Clinton has even been accused of by the most wacky of nations.

Trump has crossed the "...but clinton" line. And before his 100 days are even up!

Welcome comrade tail...glad you could join us...

I'm still holding out hope that he can get an infrastructure rebuilding/jobs creation bill passed, despite all the negative baggage that is gathering in his White House. Given the nature of politics in Washington DC, it will take a President and Congress of the same party, GOP or Dem, to accomplish that...

Let it be known that tail believes it is completely ethical and not in any way questionable to create offices for one's son in law when president.

... trumps presidency is having a very interesting impact on the ethics of his fans.

oh, crap.... Jared just admitted that he had two meetings with the Russian ambassador after the election. One of the meetings was attended by a top official of the Russian state-run bank that has been sanctioned by the US over Russia's invasion of Ukraine. What took him so long to divulge this?

...any chance that they didn't talk about sanctions, and that all those meetings Trump's campaign team members had with friendly and drunk Russians had no effect on Russian-US relations? And were not a part of the Russian activities to influence the US Presidential election?

Should Jared give up his office, like Flynn, or at least step back until he's done with the official investigation?

How about we just "Lock them up"....

...meanwhile...Putin has assassinated another opponent who fled to Ukraine, arrested a couple of others, caused another to flee the country. Sunday, Putin quelled anti-Putin protests heading into national elections later this year, with thousands of arrests, including a few of the protest leaders.

...and pay no attention to news reports Trump is playing golf on week-ends (13 times in two months), despite the number of times he said while campaigning that he'd be working at the WH on weekends, busy doing important work for all Americans...unlike his golf loving predecessor...
