Going through the course right now, through Syracuse University. I am in Computer Based Training HELL. Any hints for getting through this. Is the test a big pain in the butt?

Keep your slap hand strong, and remember, don't trust no ho's, like Tony Montoya said "Who do I trust? Me, that's who I trust."

Oh, wait you said PMP....

I was purposefully going to put in there.....not a PIMP certification. But I still like to see some humorous responses.

I'm a PMP. The test is absolutely a pain in the ass. I did a boot camp and ended up with great results. PM me if you have questions.

Will do. The CBTs that I am doing give a time for each "Chapter" they cover. If it says 2 hours, it has been taking me 4-6 hours. It is killing me.

Yeah, I spent about 50 hours in a classroom over 4 days. I feel your pain.

This one is 107 hours (adding up all the lessons) and with the rate that I get them done, that is between 200-300 hours for me. I had to complete it in 3 months. Seems like a lot of time but it isn't. More or less, 20hours a week. Off to bed, can't even think right now.

Did you ever have an acquisition billet? I work with a bunch of PMPs. I've thought about getting one but then I'd probably have to manage projects.

No acquisition billet. More or less just getting it completed to help get my foot in the door at someplace when I retire in June. I hope that with a Bach, Masters, PMP and a security clearance should help out.

Assuming you plan to put that clearance to use in the defense industry (although so many other industries are looking for military leaders as well) are you looking for contractor or civilian positions?

If you have any opportunities for GovCloud/AWS/Data Science/Big Data, Cybersecurity or sensor data fusion/diffusion education prior to terminal leave, I highly recommend it. Those seem to be areas that for the last few years there just are not enough qualified people out there with the experience and clearance. Even just survey courses would be a huge plus. Those areas seem posed for huge growth in defense (and I guess in the real world too ;D)

Also man C-UAS is a hot topic right now. Seems everybody is trying to get a piece of that pie.

Edit: Have you had an SSBI?

Yes on the SSBI. Don't have any experience in those other areas. Unfortunately my job on AWACS doesn't utilize my degrees. I am going to be looking at contractor and gov't jobs down in Destin/Ft Walton Beach area.

You're golden for a project management job somewhere down there. I've always wanted to visit Hurlburt, haven't made it yet.
