I really like the flavor of Alec Bradleys Sanctum Toro. It would be one of my top favorites but one or two out of every 5 pack seems to have a too tight draw. This really spoils the enjoyment for me. Anyone else notice this or have I just been unlucky?

To be fair I haven't smoked a ton of AB stuff but from what I have smoked and the talk I read about the brand is that consistency is not one of there strong suits.

Alec Bradley's never get much praise here probably the reason I have never bid on or purchased any of them at a local. Just saying that you might not get much feedback on them.

Your post that two out of five being plugged kind of reinforces that there are much better cigars for the same money.

I also like his prensado stick. Have them in both robusto and Churchill and have no problems. Full bodied spicy with a dab of cocoa. Delish

AB has some delicious blends, and some serious consistency issues, too bad as I love a few.

Coyolor petite lancero is awesome

There you go, enjoy the hell out of them brutha!!

I'm trying to work into more brands and expand my library of cigars that I have tried. Seems I have smoked plenty of Fuentes (still want more), crowned heads, my father, Oliva v and Melanio, tatuaje, kristoff, ligas and undercrowns, a few padrons, lots of AJ Fernandez offerings on here but I feel like there are some great cigars that I have overlooked.

Cuban cigars are something I have for some reason never had. I keep buying US market cigars but never get around to ever getting any Cuban cigars and that I feel like I am definetly missing out on a large chunk of what being a cigar smoker is all about.

Just recently got my first five pack of Perdomo's off here. They're the Habano bourbon barrel aged maduro churchills and I really enjoyed that cigar. It had burn issues which tells me that I need to give the others some more time to rest.

I'm working on trying more brands

I have not found problems with consistency lately, but maybe I have been fortunate.

I believe Opelmanta likes AB and has a thread somewhere about a new release from there that was really good

I spoke with Nick' s son at Perdomo's headquarters about the history of Perdomo Cigars.. One of the reasons Perdomo now controls all sides of production ( planting to rolling etc.) is Nick's earlier experience trying to make a consistent cigar from buying tobacco from outside sources etc. . In the past it seemed after the first release or so the sticks were not the same. Over the last few years I find Perdomos to be pretty consistent solid good tasting smokes. Interesting enough the only thing they do not produce in house is their bands and the hinges on their boxes.

Like I said the AB prensado's are excellent cigars with no construction issues.
I've tried a few of their other brands but didn't care for them
The sanctums are pretty good but again, The draw on some of them can be tight but manageable, on a few though it's a deal breaker.
that's why I was wondering if others had issues with the draw on the sanctums specifically
Does perdomo make a peppery stick?
My taste is running more towards full bodied spicy/peppery cigars lately

If you can find the old Perdomo Habano Corojo, then definitely. I always get a ton of red pepper off those.

Opel sent me some AB cigars a while back, which included a Sanctum toro.
I liked it enough to to go out and buy 10 more.................the first AB cigar I've purchased in years.
Very smooth, and rich......good construction*.....somewhat one dimensional, but a good dimension.
Solid $2-3 yard gar for me.

Disclaimer* I have only smoked 3, so I can't speak to construction issues...........yet.

I like AB... when I was working at the shop I smoked through a few boxes of the American classic... really good connecticut smoke for cheap...

also smoked a few boxes of the tempus, tempus maduro, prensado, and sanctum...

I liked all of them and experienced very few constructions issues... the issues I did come across usually related to the draw...

AB played the "beat the fda" game a few months back and I got to try pretty much every new blend they have... most were misses... most were inconsistent in terms of quality and construction... these were probably the only ones worth mentioning:

Pedro Pan - first batch I got were really good... every batch after that was all airballs... hope they figure this one out cuz the first ones I had were very enjoyable...

Magic Toast - Smoked several of these in the corona size and they only got better with age...

Raices Cubanas - while not technically AB, it's rolled at their factory... probably the best cigars they have going right now... solid construction, rich flavors... the original and the simbolo were both good...

There was a really good interview in CA about a year ago... it touced on all the construction and draw issues they had for many years, explained why it happened and what they did to fix it... definitely worth the read...
