Seeking Cool-a-dor, Bin-a-dor, humidification advice

Hi all,

I was once a regular contributor here but alas, I have been out of the proverbial cigar world loop for a LONG time. I have been keeping the few existing cigars I have left in cigar boxes. I am seeking some advice on what your opinions are for the best Cool-a-dor type humidification systems. I have less than a box left of various singles, but they are rapidly getting drier and drier and would like to keep them fresh. Also I will be using the basement for my eventual cigar room and storage so need to take that into consideration.

Thank you in advance for any ideas, suggestions or advice you could provide.

Beads are the best humidification device no matter what you are using as a humidor.

I'm a fan of Boveda packets. They work perfect in my tupperdor.

So, that box of cigars you have held on to for a long time has not been stored with humidification?
Depending on how long, what the temp and RH has been in their location.............they might be beyond saving.

I use KL, HF, and Boveda............for me, a virtually maintenance free setup.

if you use a weathertight tupperwear a single boveda will do the trick, regardless of how big, and last more than 6-8 months. recharge it in sterile water (cigars will easily maintain their own humidity) and reuse. cheapest option imo.

Yea, heartfelt beads and I use cat pearls as a hedge
Because my basement is humid and warm in the summer....
Not like my old house that was a perfect 55-65 degrees and set...
Just about all year long.

Home depot or Lowes just had
48 or 52 quart RUBBERMAID COOLERS IN STOCK this past summer for $22.00
They have almost ZERO ODOR brand new, They use food grade refridgerator plastic.
Best COOLEDORS AVAILABLE...&
48-52 are perfect size...not too big or small.

Question where can I find an over 100Q with thinner walls for good price? The best I have seen hovers around 50.00.

Promise I'm not up to anything, just trying to back into cigars. I am not in any position to cause any trouble as I do not have enough sticks to cause even a little damage and I have no humidification system until I build one this weekend.

I may have slung a few sticks back in the day, but TRUST ME, I am completely harmless now.

That being said, the future may have a different result ram27bat but certainly not the near future.

Send me address. I have a ton of extra 62% Boveda packs.

My setup is Pelican cases that I built Spanish cedar 3 wall boxes inside. I lined the "floor" with Boveda packs, and then put 2 lbs of Heartfelt beads in a stocking for the case of boxes. In the singles case I filled a cigar box with HF beads, and covered the box with a stocking. About once a year I spray the beads with distilled water until they're all clear. The Bovedas swell as the beads give up the surplus and everything's fine for another year.

Seriously, if you want some 62% Bovedas shoot me your address. I have more than I need and they've been sitting here for well over a year.

I have a bunch of 69% Bovedas that I don't use, you can have them too. Maybe use them in conjunction with Dan's 62% and get somewhere in-between? PM me your addy and I'll send them in a SFR.
