Were at Serra Vineyards right now...

First was a Viognier, good
Now we're working on a Rosa Marie (made with pinot grapes but aged on stainless not oak) better.

10......

10 different Pinot Noirs .......

Syrah was ok. But we settled on their "Eleve" Pinot Noir. Their wine is not up to Serra's but the food is outstanding. And where has watermelon radish been my whole life?

Oyster Bay Pinot Noir

Just a meh wine. Grapey on the nose, then settles into a somewhat sharp-edged new world rendition.
There are many better ones out there, I would give this one a miss.
Pinot Noir is not an easy wine to grow.

2014 Beringer Founders Estate Zinfandel, California
Fantastic $7.00 red Zinfandel. Well worth seeking out. Lots of deep rich dark fruit, big round velvety structure, hint of vanilla, and about 15 seconds of finish. Nose of cherry, blueberry, and a little of sage.

Smoked Turkey breast.
Squash medley.
Steamed wild rice.
Blueberrys and sweet dark cherries.

Mumm Napa Valley champagne - grapey on the nose, biggish bubbles, but a decent golden, medium body CA rendition for under $20.

We elevated it by serving it with my lobster risotto made with wild mushrooms and asparagus.
Wife says mine is so good, she never orders risotto out at any restaurant.

Hill Merlot, Chateau St. Marie Chardonnay and Reisling, Carnivore Cab while "bartending" our family friend's Navy retirement party.

Plus a few beers, lots of carne asada and chips, etc. etc. Happy tummy but weird dreams!

2002, Jaden Pinot Noir Ice Wine, Okanagan Valley, Canada

Wow, as unique of a wine as I have ever had. A hard wine to describe. Certainly very good. Cherries Jubilee in a glass, though not as rich. Glad I did not try to pair food with it.

I've had a couple of Canadian ice wines, one was Henry of Pelham Family Estate out of Ontario, for get the name of the other. Both were cabernet franc, very intense, delicious, can not imagine trying to pair with food except perhaps dessert fruits/berries?

Try semi-sweet chocolate. A little trick a winemaker showed me years ago. Works with ice reds and late harvests.

nope with a new to me cigar aguila, it didn't really complement the port to well. Kind of reminded me of those old blue label graycliffs from when I first started with cigars. Some decent flavor but very dry on the after taste. It was a good Port though

Picked up a bottle of "If You See Kay" for our monthly totally legit "staff meeting," just because I wanted to see how many times one of my coworkers would repeat the name once she figured it out. Turns out, even though o got it for the novelty value, it's a pretty doggone good red - VERY blackberryish fruit forward. Under $20, too.

last bottle of 2010 Cantina Zaccagnini
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

despite label saying "dry red wine" plenty of fruit in this poor man's super Tuscan impersonator.

Last bottle from my original purchase of that year to serve at a pizza dinner party before my daughter got married that Summer. On the advice of my shpo's guru, he was right. Tonight it was enhanced by the memories it rekindled.

Have bought a bottle every year since and it has been an uneven ride, but this bottle was as good as the original from that Summer, maybe better.

might have seen it around, has a little piece of wood tied to the front above the label. price has dropped over the years as well, probably low to mid teens now.
