Don't ask, don't tell repeal fails.....

"The whole thing is a political train wreck," said Richard Socarides, a former White House adviser on gay rights during the Clinton administration.

Socarides said President Barack Obama "badly miscalculated" the Pentagon's support for repeal, while Democrats made only a "token effort" to advance the bill.

"If it was a priority for the Democratic leadership, they would get a clean vote on this," he said.

Democratic Sens. Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor of Arkansas sided with Republicans to block the bill. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., also voted against the measure as a procedural tactic. Under Senate rules, casting his vote with the majority of the Senate enables him to revive the bill at a later date if he wants.

They need a new semi-Republican person to blame for this.

FGM,

I would think you oppose gays in the military and would be rejoicing over this. What say you?

Most of my thought on this are again split on 2 thoughts....What I personally believe is right and what are the constitutional RIGHTS of gays.

DO I believe it's right...No

Do they HAVE that right? Yes

Bottom line is thatwhile I don't agree with or support their lifestyle, I think that they have just as much right to have any job that they are qualified for, and still appreciate that fact that they would lay their lives down to protect us and our country.

Gay marriage and adoption.......whole different thread....

FGM - I covered this before. There is no CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to serve in the military (gay or straight). Military can reject people for service based on many factors. One factor is homosexual conduct. Gays can serve they just can't engage in homosexual conduct or have the propensity (stated or in action) to engage in homosexual conduct.

Here's the current "Idi Amin Jr. Blame evil semi-Republican" tally:

Bush -> Gone.
Rush Limbaugh -> Epic fail.
Sean Hannity -> Failed.
John McCain -> No one likes McCain anyways.
Sarah Palin -> Failed.
Chuck Grassley -> Failed.
Jim DeMint -> Most Democrats barely know who the VP is, let alone Jim DeMint.
The TEA Party -> In progress.
John Boehner -> Failed.
Christine O'Donnell ->In progress.

Of course, Junior in the Oval Office might have a better chance if Democrats didn't have huge majorities in the House, Senate, and also control the White House (not that any of this matters to most Democrats and Libertarians anyways, as they only consider Republicans to be evil).

You are so wrong.

There's nothing in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights that says everyone must have health care, but now it is a basic right...and you'll pay for that basic right whether you want to or not.

Your idea of constitutional rights is so 1820s. This is a hip, new era.
