Are we still complaining about how much a president's vacation is costing us?

Because trump has apparently already matched Obama's annual costs of security.... in one month.

http://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Guarding-Trump-and-family-is-the-nation-s-money-10948243.php

$11.3 million in security this month.

Yeah.... he's really working hard at draining that swamp. Hah....

But it's ok with all of you I'm sure. Because he ran on the "R" ticket.

f'ing hypocrites.

Is the security to protect him from folks of the GOP,

Or

Is it because all the protesting MORONS afffiliated with the democrats?

I don't care.

I honestly don't care how much it costs to shuttle a president anywhere. We can spend 2billion on it if the congress wants to vote for it.

I DO care that the same people who whined incessantly about how much obama cost the taxpayers are now silent.

Do you understand that difference?

And no, the cost isn't to protect him from the democrats. There has been no indication that additional security has been added because of protests. It's added because he's maintaining 3 different residences. New York. White house. and his "Winter white house".... (know who else had a "Winter Palace"? the Tzars... just going to point that out)...And throw in the added difficulty of covering his grown children whenever they travel on business.

Now. I would see any of this as reasonable expenses. But I also saw Obama's expenses as reasonable (at 1/10th the current rate of expenditure).

What I don't find to be reasonable at all is that there is absolute silence from the same group of individuals who were SOOOOOO concerned with how much of our government money the Obama's were spending. Surprise surprise it turns out they really didn't care about the amount of money at all.

I'm shocked... shocked I tell you... to find out they lied to me when they said they were concerned about the money.

Can you blame him? I mean there;s hardly a person out there who was not convinced that Clintorious would win...even though the majority didn't want the B*tch however if you listened to mainstream media outlets....it was a forgone conclusion that she had already won, @ that point we were just going through the motion of voting. She single handedly LOST.....thus saving the country from her wrath.

What he didn't say is how disappointed he'd be if every ivory skinned person didn't vote fro him....Whistle

I know you type from memory or maybe what you believe, but your facts are wrong.

Additional security was brought in due to protest at Trump Tower.

Again, those were left wing nuts holding signs and shouting.

Um I think both sides have/had nuts protesting... maybe not the election results itself (which is stupid) but I don't remember a period when the big O didn't have a dangerous element against him which was ok since he was a foreigner and Muslim and stuff. lets also not forget the tea party and the anti obama care zealots .... and the oft forgotten white nationalists that folks say don't exist

Trumps security is going to cost more if for no other reason than his family traveling the world with secret service protection for business purposes (recently Dubai golf course stuff?) etc. and his desire to get away to a luxury resort (which he profits personally from) every weekend while not being bothered by the pedestrian camp david, and a wife living somewhere else at least for the moment. My guess is may of his properties will get some sort of protection due to name alone but I don't know that for sure.

I'm not judging it, it is what it is and I am all for protecting our president and their family no matter party or my taste for them.

But to ignore the hypocrisy of those throwing a fit about the cost to protect Obama or the cost of his travels or golf game and then try to pretend Trump is somehow different is laughable. These are the things that amuse me the most. When folks don't realize or rationalize what they are doing or saying.

It is also dangerous. Reagan wanted the line item veto. If he had gotten it Obama would have had it too. That would have been a disaster. Everyone freaked by Obama's use of Executive Orders. Now it appears to be ok. I think if we remained a little more even when our guy is in, it would be a little more even when theirs is. Instead we seem to buy in to the emotional hysterics and rationalize the absurd.

I suspect the extra security at trump tower due to protests is a drop in the bucket as an add on to the base amount required because they are living apart. It is also a minimal amount compared to the fact we are maintaining a luxury resort as a weekend white house, and they are minimal compared to the cost of protecting the family on their first class international travels. I'm ok with all of that. Just as I was the fact Obamas vacations cost more than usual because they were in Hawaii etc. Meh.

The Obamas were accused of driving up cost by living lifestyles of the rich and famous but Trump isn't? Someone really believes that with a straight face?

Your comparison of Obama supporters to Trump supporters and the violence used by one group and not the other is what's LAUGHABLE. Still waiting for an HONEST explanation as to WHY the POSER in Chief Obama had his records sealed....until that happens or they are UNSEALED for public consumption, no one will or should believe a word regarding his past. PERIOD.

I'm curious TW did you see any KKK nuts with shotguns standing outside any of the voting precincts in an effort to push blacks away from voting? And why didn't Barry have his Justice Dept. bring charges against those who DID do that? Because he IS a racist who used his place in the White House to advance Black hate groups like BLM etc.

Again....Thank GOD they're GONE and Trump is using the same EO's to undo the harm by the POS community organizer.

Tax returns LOL

Your reply has very little to do with what I said or the topic at hand. It's just your usual beef. i don't think the things you mention are driving up the cost of protecting trump, I think they have much the same risks.... both relatively high given their controversies. But Trumps footprint is much larger.

Yes he is, and it's the way in which he used that law degree to manipulate our constitutional law that makes him a dangerous man. I read yesterday that the security hotel bill alone for the President's two sons' trip to Dubai was $100,00 and that it is costing NYC $500,000 per day to protect Trump Tower. That is what the logistics and man hours cost. We can afford to keep the Trumps safe. I am not bitchin'.

Let me go on the record here: I don't like the money we spend on politicians, period.

Salaries. Travel. Security. Health care. I don't like any of it.

Some of it is necessary, I get that. Ol' Trumpy is at a disadvantage because he has grown kids and young. However... he could just stay at the flippin' White House and save us taxpayers some damn money.
