Is anyone else not that impressed with the CC's they have tried? I have had like 5-6 and none were spectacular. The only ones I remember are the Ramon Allones I had yesterday that was from 2007 and then a HdM like 7 years ago. I can't remember the others I had but don't think they were big names.

Maybe I just haven't had the right ones. I am guessing that is it. Really want to try some Bolivars, PSD4's, and Cohiba Siglo III's. I don't really know what other "good" brands are out there. I really don't know anything about CC's.

Did have a Surrogates Cracker Crumbs and Herrera Esteli that I like yesterday. The 4th was a Room 101 that wasn't overly impressive but have some more to give it another shot.

You may not like them. They don't come in peach, grape or frankincense flavor.

I prefer a milder flavor profile.

CCs tend to deliver more than the popular NC choices which tend more towards full big peppery flavors. The few milder flavor profile NCs I've enjoyed don't hold up to age.

CCs fit the bill for me.

I've had the opportunity to sample more CC's this year than every other year of my life combined. I'd like to thank all the guys on here who've made that happen for me.

I will admit there were a few times where I was pretty stumped and asked myself, "am I really smoking cubans here." My experience first started with Cohiba Esplendido back in 2004, then along the way somone would pass along maybe an H-Upmann pc or a tubo of some cheap cuban machine rolled stuff which were mediocre at best.

After some time on these boards, I began smoking quite a bit more of them and have really enjoyed the acidic bite. That's not to say I won't have a good cigar from any other parts of the world, I still enjoy a myriad of cigars.

I may not have been "impressed" with every Cuban I've smoked but I could certainly say the same for NCs of the same price. I've also had some *fantastic* Cubans (...and NCs...) that were out of this world. Maybe your sample base is not large enough? Also, it's been said time and time again but everyone's palate is different so what tastes good varies from person to person.

When I worked at the shop, person after person needed explaining to them that cuban cigars were not necessarily "the best" cigars in the world... they're another option... something different...

a lot of people seriously think when cubans are legalized all other cigars will stop being sold...

also can't count on both hands the number of people who told me that real cubans contain marijuana and that's what makes them so good.... who starts these rumors?

As my Father-in-law would saw, "that's why they make chocolate and vanilla. CC'S don't fit everyone's flavor profile and thats what it really boils down to as far as I'm concerned. I prefer the lighter more complex and they work for me. I'm smoking a lot more Nicaraguan right now than I have in several years. .....don't know why but I'm enjoying them and I don't try to over think things.

Not fishing for people to send me more, just saying those are ones that people have said are fantastic....although the Ramon Allones was supposed to be a really good one too. Maybe I will have to make some purchases and see what I think.

Generally I like really bold, strong, dark cigars. I have had quite a few lighter ones that I like, but my general profile of preference is dark and strong. I have never had a cigar I thought was creamy, so not sure if I just didn't get that taste or maybe I haven't had the right ones.

Don't get me wrong, the RASCC wasn't bad, just not what I expected from a CC, it just seemed average. This was my only recent CC that was a bigger brand name, so my thoughts on the ones I had a few years ago are pretty worthless.

There's plenty of cigars I actually prefer to CC's (though a couple of my top 5 were ccs).

After all these years, Melanio is still my fav goto. Padron 1926/FR and LGs are probably my two favorite higher ends. What these have in common is consistency, they are consistently great.

Every once in a while, I get a CC that blows my mind, but I like them a little fresher than most, less than 5 years... more than that, they start getting a little too weak for my liking. Obviously there are exceptions, I got a couple old ones from Buckwheat and a few other guys on here that were amazing... still a little mild for my tastes, but excellent flavor profiles.

Anyway, what I find with ccs is in a box you might find one or two great ones, the rest will be decent with a few plugged turds in there. I have to use my draw poker on ccs more than any other cigars I have.

So if you have an affinity for more mild cigars, CCs will probably be your favs, if your prefer them stronger, then probably not.

The cheapest box ive seen were a box of Fonseca delicias for 60bucks. How is that comparable to all the other cigars.

P.s. I dont care about the price just stating the price difference.

P.s.s. in other words fluctuating prices

P.s.s.s. i like CCs although more mild.

P.s.s.s.s. fonsecas delicias are not 60 bucks a box anymore😣

If you're swimming in the $60/box end of the pool, then we aren't even in the same hemisphere. And cbid prices don't really count....nor to 95% of the cbid offerings. If you want to compare a box of any General/Altadis cigars to to Cubans, then we're talking past each other. $200/box for most decent boutique-ish cigars is pretty standard.....right in line with Cuban prices

I just wrote down a list of the last 12 cigars that I've smoked....and price per is pretty close down the line....with only one exception, the Cubans not being any more costly than the NC's....
Tat Fausto, Roma Craft Aquitaine EMH, Fume de Amour church; Punch Punch; CH Imperiosa toro; HU Mag 46; Tramp Stamp; AF 858SG; :La Palina Mr. Sam; Tat Cojonu 2003; Leaf by Oscar toro; PL Encantos....the PL Encantos was a little bit higher than avg...but then, so is the Cojonu

Ok....that's sorta what I was saying in 30....if you want to smoke **** (cheap?) cigars, than, by all means, save your money and stay away from Cubans...I imagine that once the embargo is lifted, the American market will expect/demand that Cubans offer cheap crappy cigars, too

they are hit or miss for me although my experience is no where near as extensive as many people's here

to this point, i find myself mostly preferring a nicaraguan profile/strength

To your point, I can say that the most I have ever spent on a box of cigars is 130. So in that case, CC's are much more expensive for me.

If bold, strong and dark floats your boat you're much better off with Nic's. CC's are known for full flavor, not body.

My tastes were similar to yours several years ago, but for a number of reasons, grew weary of the full/full profile and haven't looked back.

I will reiterate that cc's do in fact taste like cigars.......

And these can be found for around $100... and that's a box of 25, not no 18 or 20, or 24

RyJ Corinitas en Cedro... also under $100

I don't see 4-5 bucks as expensive, or even Monte #2 at $250-270... who would say $10 per is expensive?
