Ok the elitist pool filled up rather quickly so I decided to open up another but thought maybe a mid range would include more noobs if they wanted to play. I would classify a mid-range cigar as in the neighborhood of $5-$8, of course there are some cigars that go for less here on cbid then $5 and would still be in the mid-range category. I would also say no Gurkha, PDR or stuff along those lines. Basically use your discretion but send what you would like to receive if you had won.

Rules:

2 cigars per block
no limit to how many blocks you can buy
first come first serve on picking spots
Players will ship to winners afterwards (I don't have the space to store everyone's ante)
Noobs are welcome to play (good chance to earn some cred here)
Any blocks not sold 1 hour before start of game will go to OpFTH

Payouts

1st quarter - 30 cigars
2nd quarter - 40 cigars
3rd quarter - 50 cigars
final score - 80 cigars

It is final score of the game regardless of if it is overtime or 4th quarter.

Here is the link

http://www.superbowlpoolsite.com/grid.php5?url=CbidMidrangePool

password is cbid

Please post how many blocks you are taking in here so I can keep track for payouts.

Prob did it wrong by not dividing up my numbers more but I'm going with getting solid numbers on a few lines.

I forgot to add that any leftover blocks will go to the OpFTH, if nobody opposes I will add that in the rules now.

Hey shaun, did someone mess with your avatar? I seem to recall a well-placed "smudge" on it at one time...

OK - I'm in for 5

One clarifying question cuz I have seen it done both ways.

Are the quarter winners the ones that have the correct score at the end of that quarter or the points scored _in_ that quarter? Most are score at the end, but I wanna check

I'm pretty sure it works like this.....at end of Quarter the Pats(AFC) are 14 and Falcons(NFC) are 7 , you would look at grid and find the 4 for the Pats(AFC) and 7 for the Falcons(NFC) and follow down on grid to where 4 and 7 intersect and whoever owns that square wins the quarter. That's how all the squares pools I've been in work.
The #'s at top and side of grid will be filled out after all the squares are filled, so no one can pick the good #'s and leave the bad #'s for everyone else. If I'm wrong I'm sure shaun or someone will straighten us out. Beer

Let me be clearer then.

Say at the end of Q1, the score is 14-7 Pats. And at the half, the score is 21-10, meaning the Pats got 7 and the Falcons got 3. I have seen pools where the 2nd quarter win would be whoever has Pats 1 and Falcons 0(most common), and other pools where the 2nd quarter win would be Pats 7 and Falcons 3(less common)

Just wanting to know how it will play out and to a lesser extent, how I will know what numbers I have before the game.

In my experience it has always been the last digit from the score at end of 2nd quarter it would be the example of the 1 and the 0
But again we'll have to let shaun clarify for us.

Yes it is the last digit of the score at the end of each quarter example being first quarter AFC 7- NFC 0 the numbers are 7 and 0, 2nd quarter the score is AFC 14 - NFC 7 the numbers would be AFC 4 NFC 7. Using points scored per quarter I have never seen done and would completely eliminate a lot of the numbers, ,not that there aren't some that hardly ever hit as is.
