I haven't heard anything about starting one of these again so I thought I would get a jump on it to get it filled. I am open to suggestions for payouts but this is what I was thinking.

1st quarter= 15 cigars
2nd quarter= 20 cigars
3rd quarter = 25 cigars
final score= 40 cigars

It is final score so that there is not confusion, if it goes to OT the final score is the winning score.

Buy in is 1 cigar per block. The cigar should be $8 and over to qualify for this block pool.

You can buy as many blocks as you like and any leftover blocks will go to OpFTH. Please list how many blocks you want and cigars you are using as ante in here then I will send you the link and password to pick your blocks.

Shaun341 5 blocks
Jespear 10 blocks
BGZ 10 blocks
Stinger 5 blocks
abjd 5 blocks
bassman45 5 blocks
dharbolt 6 blocks
Nicar 10 blocks
delta1 10 blocks
Clickbangdead 10 blocks
Buddha Daddy 10 blocks
Whizzy 4 blocks
Drafter 10 blocks

winners - payouts

1st Jespear - Keep ante, Stinger
2nd Nicar - keep ante, Shaun, abjd
3rd Delta - keep ante, bassman, Dharbolt, Whizzy
final Buddha Daddy - keep ante, BGZ, Clickbangdead, Drafter

Only ONE cigar per block ?
I'll take TEN blocks.
Not sure as to what I would send just yet, but you know I'm good for it.
The point is moot, though . . . as I am going to win ALL FOUR quarters ! Sipping tea

I think BGZ is correct, was looking for stuff more along the lines of say My Father, Tatuaje, Fuente, LP just to name a couple of the more popular labels. Could probably get away with the Amazon Basin and maybe the Perdomo but the rest I think fall into a lower category then I was looking for here.

Cleared some room in my pm if you want to hit me up.

Not quite "dog rockets", as bgz insinuated, but I agree with shaun about stepping it up a bit.
Do a search on "elitist", "super premium", "superbowl block pool payout" (or something akin to that), and see what people are sending.

shaun gave you some good suggestions to start with.

Looks a little light.

le bijou I would say qualifies (as long as it's not the tiny one), but the other 3 are a little on the light side.

Maybe if you threw in a Padron Anniversary, opus, or something similar as your last it would even it out a little... even then it would pretty much be a bare minimum thing.

Remember the name of the thread... "Elitist".

Dig deep in that humi noob!

In any case... it's not my call, just throwing it out there because I'm going to be winning some smokes this year (haven't won a squares game yet... but this year is the year!)

Got it! I think the $8 and up is throwing me off. Lets just get rid of that and just say elitist. I know a lot of people get stuff on cbid for way under b n m's. Living near NYC everything is more. I saw the other day some one on here got opus anniversary for $20. They cost 42 at my b n m. Anyway I'll throw in what you looking for. Padron, fuente, Davidoff, rass I don't want to just throw those in if people are just throwing in $8 b n m''s. I'll definitely throw in some elitist bc I want to get a nice bomb on my porch filled with them after hitting the final box

Yeah as a NOOB I've read some of the bombs on here and I don't think the old timers on the forum are scraping around for $8-10 cigars. It will be a nice hit for the winners for sure. The guys that are going to be in on this are at a different level than I'm at. Got some work to do but hope to be in these in a year or two. You guys have been at this a long time.

It's funny because I thought I've got some $8-12 smokes I might be able to swing a few squares. Then I really got to looking at what I had and got that swift kick in the nuts feeling. Spanking The forum definitely teaches you how to appreciate this hobby.

Well, I was just looking at the mothership prices ;)

Respectable brands MSRP is probably sufficient.

Davidoffs probably overkill.

Padron 50 yerar... overkill.

Opus torpedo... probably overkill.

RASS... perfect!

Respectable brands MSRP 8 to 12 bucks is what I would think.

Think about it this way, we're all fairly thrifty shoppers I'm sure, you can easily pick up MSRP $12 smokes for $8. You can easily pick up $8 MSRP smokes for $3 to $4. So as long as you're in range, you're total out of pocket is probably less than $8 per cigar to play a game like this (if you're patient on your purchases).

I was a noob here once (some people still consider me a noob)... had to ask several BOTL of their opinion of what premium meant for gambling purposes (hell, I still have no real clue). Anyway, it's pretty well defined for this contest.

Basically, it's better to error on the heavy side than the lighter side.

I mean it's all subjective, but ultimately people want to win cigars that they will smoke.

Shaun might want to edit the $8 minimum off. If it is a noob, have them list up what they are going to send. I think most of the fogs know what they are doing. When in doubt send your list of intended cigars.

My two cents.

Or even the fogs can post what there ante is for noobs. So there is some sort of standard presented to the thread. Its a little overkill for everyone to post just my two cents.

I'm hoping a second pool opens up too. Maybe a CC pool?

Well, that's one way to raise the bar. Just for the record... my final bag may or may not contain the cigars I listed from today's package... but I will commit to throwing in an F75 in the batch (they look and smell amazing!), a monte #2 and a Tatuaje Le Vignoble... This is assuming that I lose ;)

I have to re-organize after I pull my latest cigars out of the freezer (I over-estimated how much room I had).
