Oops. Guess I was wrong again. The word might is still in play.

I am/was concerned about the clintons business dealings and am about Trumps as well. I'm hopeful he will do something substantial about that and perhaps he will..... especially after droning on about clintons (rightfully so).

There is nothing wimpering or left about pointing at the issue right now and putting pressure on him to fix it when so far many of his utterances suggest a substandard solution and he flat out says he doesn't have to do anything and can run his businesses if he so chooses (but won't)

I know you like the guy and love to see the left punched in the mouf. That's cool. My concern has nothing to do with the left although in here anything critical of a republican is left.

I want a bright line between the office and conflict of interest leading to personal gain regardless of who is in office. We didn't have that with the clintons and they deserve to be disparaged because of that. Trump was right on that.

I don't want him to find the bare minimum legal escape route like with his taxes. He's going to be president now. That's what Clinton does and we all hate. If he really believes it's the bare minimum he should do more, much more, and maybe push for legislation to codify it. Drain the swamp not just the north end of the swamp.

Washington set the precidence for 2 terms. Maybe Trimp can set the precidence for mitigating conflict of interest. And maybe he will. I'm with you on giving him a chance, I'm not with Jim on his current stance and approach to the subject. And frankly it's not a left right issue. He has the ability to hurt the right if he dies this wrong.

And yes I am biased. I don't like the man. But I do want him to do well. We need him to.

There is no foregone conclusion here. A man that owns businesses is now POTUS.
I know you want him to succeed. But many on the left don't. Which is irrelevant anyhow, because no matter how well he might do they won't accept nor recognize it. The same way for Obama, and Bush before him.
But the biased hatred for Trump has either grown exponentially over his predecessor, or it just has that appearance because mainstream media has joined those forces. I assume it's the latter.
In the meantime, if you honestly want Trump to succeed then it's counter productive to make assumptions that he'll abuse his power to benefit his business.
So yes. The word "might" is most definitely in play here. But only to encourage discussion. Not because I think it's inevitable, as you seem to think.

I (and I think many others) don't know if I want him to succeed because he hasn't really put forth any kind of cohesive plan(s) on what he wants to accomplish as POTUS. "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN", "DRAIN THE SWAMP" & "LOCK HER UP" aren't plans. fog
