Just saw the video about the 'basket of deplorables' comment.

Liked Pence's reply... Uh, Hillary, these are American citizens.

I don't doubt there are deplorable people or groups supporting Trump. I also don't doubt there are deplorable people or groups supporting Hillary. What I do doubt is that they make up a large amount of constituents. Both candidates mud slinging is unacceptable.

Hillary and Trump supporters are a laugh. They both love to call each other stupid idiots. And in alot of ways they are both correct.

I don't really consider Trump a true Republican. . Many don't. .. isn't voting 3rd party a statement against the status quo... isn't Trump exactly that..?? Huh

I'm against the staus quo, so yes.
But Trump is the nominee for the GOP. That sort of makes them forced to admit it.

If she'd have left it at 'deplorables', she MIGHT have gotten through that day's news cycle ok....but then she went on to try to define it....lol...she will need that doc of hers to extract her foot

btw, was she sorry for?... saying it? or for meaning it? or that she only said 'half' and not 'most' or 'all'?

stupid as the comment was coming from her....reading the whole quote in context, I don't disagree with her...maybe not half, but a good %.....the 'irredeemable'...and 'not America' was a bit over the top, perhaps

"You know, just to be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric. Now some of those folks, they are irredeemable. But thankfully they are not America.'

Clinton then went on to explain that the other basket of Trump supporters

"...are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they’re just desperate for change. It doesn’t really even matter where it comes from. They don’t buy everything he says, but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won’t wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they’re in a dead end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well."

I wish I could laugh at that.

Feel very sorry for my currently serving EOD brothers (and few sisters) that have had to resume supporting the Secret Service risking their lives for HRC. When I had to do it when she was FLOTUS, I had to remind myself every morning it was because of the Constitution and her husband being POTUS.

But since she cares zero for both the rule of law, and those who serve at their life's risk to protect her....

A. Not insightful, simply observant.
B. If she truly believed this, she would back out of the race, as she embodies the worst of what is spelled out here.
C. The fact that she could spout this in the same breath that she blasted everyone else tells us that she can't possibly be sorry for the name calling. Everything was scripted to the letter.

So her comments are spot on.

nope, sticking with insightful...her take from these Trump supporters is that her party needs to understand and empathize with them.

Observant would have just been what everyone else knows, Trump has tapped into (and created some as well) angry scared people. But she is admitting that they have been overlooked by her crowd when she could have insulted them as maroons along with the other half that she did insult.
