Got a big box of smokes, brews, wine and Maine goodness from Mandobro today. It's a little unsettling when the mail lady walks up carrying a plastic bag.....d'oh!

Seems one of the beers blew up in transit.. Everything else appears in tact. We look forward to sampling the Maine Syrups! And I look forward to several new to me smokes!

Thanks for putting up the prize Don. You went above and beyond!! Beer

Mikekoz got the package today....relax pack my ass.....whew between the hot sauce and coffee I ain't sure about the relaxing part. Great smokes too by the way. That hot sauce is tasty... didn't put it on nothing but did take a shot of it. You need to sell that stuff.
Thanks a million

My pleasure.
I have a Friend that, for the last 5 or 6 years, has been trying to get me to sell that sauce. His wife is some kind of marketer. Maybe that will be my retirement endeavor......

By the way, it's great on any meat. My 19 year old son loves it on eggs. Enjoy!

Glad it made all in good shape and hope you enjoy it all. I always get a kick out of the "Texas" pete's made just up the road in WInston Salem. Samson's I bought just because of the label, should be good stuff.

The gold banded lancero I think was an OSOK, but then again, I really don't remember. I just kind of grabbed and said, this looks good or that llooks good.

Thanks for all you do for OpFTH

Golly gee whiz! Although he appears to be a nice guy, let me warn all of youse: Jeferris is a B-A-A-A-D man. John dropped a prize package with so many frickin’ items that I couldn’t really get everything into one shot without everything looking like ants. So, instead of posting up a pic that wouldn’t do justice, here, instead is the “War and Peace” version of my OpFTH 2016 prize:

What: (Half) Ferris Wheel prize
When: Arrival 7/20/16

When the prizes were announced, John and I e-mailed each other and he said he would take into consideration my home situation. We’re in the midst of some major renovations – kitchen, flooring and both bathrooms. Wife and I are eating out for almost every meal and basically living in our bedroom for the duration of the project (…late August…). All of my coolers have been placed in a storage locker and access is limited. John seemed like a really reasonable fella and I coulda sworn that he was gonna cut me some slack so when his two boxes landed and demolished my desk, I was like, “WTF John!” Yes, as little as I swear (… Liar liar, liar, pants on fire…), I had to utter the full phrase when I saw and then picked them up (…quite heavy…).

One box was laden with cigars and some nice items from the Sunshine State. The other contained more beer than I drink in a month along with even more goodies from Florida. So here, and hoping my fingers don’t cramp up from all the typing, is what John sent:

A. Fuente 8-5-8 Sungrown – a Palama favorite
A. Fuente Anejo No. 77 Shark – special occasion go-to
A. Fuente Casa Cuba Doble Seis (nh)
A. Fuente Don Carlos Eye of the Shark (nh but never thought I would ever see, let alone hold one)
A. Fuente Don Carlos Robusto (ditto)
A. Fuente FFOX Super Belicoso (dayum!)
A. Fuente FFOX Perfecxion No. 4 (double dayum!)
A. Fuente Magnum R44 – Top 5 favorite
Caldwell Long Live the King – The Heater (nh)
Camacho Maduro Corona (nh)
Crowned Heads Las Calaveras EL2014 LC550 – love these
Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Feral Flying Pig (nh)
Illusione Rothchildes – great smoke
Oliva Federal 93rd Anniversary 2014 Reserva No. 2 (nh)
RoMa Craft BA XXI Intrigue – think this is a nh and I love the Envy
Southern Classic Cucubano (nh)
Southern Classic Dujo (nh)
Tatuaje 7th Capa Especial – solid smoke
Tatuaje Black Label Petite Lancero – YES!
Viaje Skull & Bones M?stery 2013 (nh)
Warped Flor del Valle Corona – had one before but need to revisit

Quite obviously John has either done his homework (…oh gawd, he’s been stalking me!...) or we have very similar tastes. I, for one, hope for the latter. Many favorites as well as a slew of nh that I've wanting / wishing to try. But wait, there’s more….

From the ISOM:
Cohiba Secretos Maduro 5 – a great short smoke Cuban
Diplomaticos No. 2 – had my first one recently and loved it
H. Upmann Magnum 46 – getting to really like these
Partagas Lusitanias – a 2 hour smoke for sure!

And okay, I know you’ve read this before but wait, there’s more….

So that was “just” the smokes. Here’s the swag the scallywag sent (…everything nh…):

Brew Bus Brewing Rollin’ Dirty (Irish-style Red Ale)
Cigar City Jai Alai IPA
First Magnitude Wakulla Hefeweizen
JDub’s Bell Cow Milk Chocolate Porter
JDub’s Poolside Kolsch Style Ale
Funky Buddha Blueberry Cobbler Ale
Dat’l Do-it Hot Sauce
Everglades Seasoning
Leighton’s Orange Blossom Honey
Palmalito Guava Jelly – they make guava jelly someplace other than Hawaii?
Tony’s Cedar Key Clam Chowder
Florida refridge magnet
Florida University Gator logo decal
Florida University Koozie
Roz Cigar Emporium t-shirt

And last, but not least, the coolest swag piece…EVER!:

Alligator King Alligator foot backscratcher – yes, made from a real American alligator!

John, I cannot thank you enough. I’m really glad this was “just” a Half Ferris Wheel prize, otherwise my hands would be stiff with arthritis by now. And, as I said, although there are “rules,” don’t expect me to follow them, especially after getting my arse spanked so hard by you! You sir, are one heck of a BOTL!

Jamie friggin' loaded this baby with specialty items from the Rogue and Appleton Valleys:

Jar Of Fig Conserve
Jar of Plum Marmalade
Rogue Roasters Coffee
Pack of Chocolate Covered Bacon
Moose Munch Bar
Box of Red Velvet Spicy Almonds (wifey swiped them already)
Pack of Smoked Beef Strips
Moose Munch Gourmet Popcorn
Pack of Rogue Blue Croutons
Can of Block 15 Brewing Sticky Hands Ale (looks interesting)
Bottle of Ledger David '13 Cab Franc (did not see this winery when we visited)

I would tack a pic but haven't had much luck posting them on this site.

Waaaaaay over the top my friend!

The winery is a very small one, not many stores here even sell it.....owned by 2 guys one is a doctor friend of my girlfriends. He's a really cool guy (Suzuki V-Strom). Their Tampernello (sp?) is one of my favorites, but it's only sold to members. That Cab Franc is good.

http://www.tri-cityherald.com/living/food-drink/wine/article83579862.html

Block 15 is getting some serious traction, that IPA is getting harder to find and only available once a month (4 can limit).

Rogue Roasters won best coffee in Oregon in 2014 I believe. That blend is from my cigar shpo, it's their custom blend and seasonal (also small batch).

I forgot to send something else to you both. Probably get that out next week.

Just like DED, Jamie hit me with a great Oregon goody box.

Rogue Roasters Guatzilla coffee
Moose Munch Gourmet Popcorn
Oregon Trail Busters Smoked Beef w/Ghost Pepper
Moose Munch Bar milk choc s'mores
Red Velvet Almonnds (so good)
Pennington Farms Olallie berry jam (blackberry)
Pennington Farms Strawberr Orange Marm
Gourmet Blue Cheese flavored croutons
Block 15 Sticky Hands Ale
The Abyss Stout (rye whiskey barrel aged)
Choc covered bacon

What a great bunch of goodness. Besides the almonds, I haven't had any of the items before. Pretty funny that you sent Blackberry Jam. While I was back in Ohio, I had a conversation with my parents about BB jam.

Thanks again for a great hit.

The Chillin' Moose is the official smoke of Moose Manor. We are smoking our way through the box that you and Joan sent us, Don. That moose bomb complete with moose poop earrings still cracks us up. For the record, the CM we sent you came from our stash. Since the others were a gift from you, we are enjoying them and reliving the Maine Moose Bombing event with every puff!

Grumpie said to enjoy it all. She had fun putting it together.
