5-6 year old RyJ Church. Twang!!!
subtle sweet fruit. Bread and nutmeg hints at first; and all from the first puff on.
Easily the best cigar I have smoked since FGM Herf!

^ yeah...and for some reason I traded away some 2010 Behike 54s to you for some Tat Verocu Westies. Oops...

Those Behike 54 are easily in the top 3 smokes I've ever had.

Good to see you fuggers ain't forgot how to flick poo..

Cheers!

Yes. Ii remember that trade. I think it turned out pretty good for me. I still have about half of those 54's left along with several '10 52's.

Btw, got in a beautiful box of Uppman RR's today. They look, smell, and feel absolutely gorgeous.

Cohiba Secretos. Not sure if the Partagas factory is responsible for putting out the Lusitania as well and what that really means. But it certainly wasn't a surprise to see that this cigar may be being made in the same factory. Definitely in my top 5

Yeah, these have possibly been the best RASS I've ever had (i.e.: since 2007). I haven't had any 2013s yet, but I would snatch up 12s in a heartbeat - especially factory code MUR

Anyone get any Party Shorts recently? Still as consistent and good out of the box as they were in the past? Have an event later this summer and need some that don't require long aging.

I got some ALT AGO 13s that honestly need some time - I've had 5 or so and 4 have had a fair shot of ammonia.

Had a few over the weekend

H Upmann #2 '12 --- Prefect draw, complex flavors, but the occasional bitter herbal note makes me think these are perhaps too young
SLR Regios '11 --- I just don't know what to make of these cigars. Interesting flavors, but not my favorite. nice change of pace cigar, but not a regular rotation one for me
Juan Lopez #2 '13 --- Fantastic, like a chocolate covered RASS. Darker wrapper than most ELs I've had. I think these and HdM Epicure #2s are two best robustos I've had from 2013.
RyJ Short Churchill '10 --- First one of these I've had with draw problems. I like the Short Churchills a bit, but I find the flavors fall apart in the final third
H Upmann Mag 46 '11 --- Coffee with cream and sugar all the way through. Great smoke, but not as complex as other 46s from that same cab
H Upmann Mag 48 EL 09 --- More Chocolate and pepper than the 46, still good, and I love the size, but I would rather have a cab of 46s from 09 given the choice

Conclusion: I think I'm an Upmann fan.

Rafael Gonzales Coronas Extra- Draw was too tight so I pitched it for an H. Up. EL 2009, which was great as usual.

If you're an HUP fan, the '11' Connie 1's are smoking great right now. Pretty awesome smoke at a great price point.

It's an excellent smoke already. Wanted to age the box but that's not working out so well. I've got another box in my sights which just might be my Father's Day present to myself!

Almost. I did take a break for dinner and then burned the Monte for desert with a wee bit of scotch. Beer

Very Nice....haven't drank many Scotch's and those I've tried were peaty. But my kids gave me a bottle of Glenlivet 12 yr for Fathers Day, so it looks like I'll be re-visiting.

I'm with you on peaty scotch. I love my scotch, but haven't developed a taste for the peaty stuff. Some people love it, but it tastes like bad medicine to me. To each his own.
Glenlevit 12 is a nice introductory single malt. Not peaty and nice flavor. My current favorite is Balvenie Carribean Cask. I enjoy the entire Balvenie line. Another really good one that pairs well with a good cigar is McCallen 15 yr Fine Oak. Little bit o heaven in a glass!

Scot, Thanks for a couple possibilities on scotch. Nice to have a cpl ideas from some one else who doesn't appreciate that Smokey flavor.
