2008 Monte No 2 from KPP which was just spectacular. Didn't want it to end. Among the most peppery CCs I've tried, in a good way.

Also ashed the 2010 Partagas Lusitania from KPP which was sadly a bit tight on the draw, but tasty as well.

Finally, had a 2011 Trini Coloniales which was heavenly, and thanks to dkeage.

Sorry about the firm draw on the Lusi Eric. I smoked one recently as well and had the same experience. I just snipped mine a little further down, which helped a little. Flavors we're very nice, but a firm draw makes it much more difficult to enjoy a smoke.

Glad the Monte 2 was up your alley though! I enjoy them quite a bit as well. When on, not too many better.

As a lot of you know, I believe the Padilla 1932 Pepin rolled is the Holy Grail of cigars for me, but after having the opportunity to have a PSD4 and a Bolivar RC...wow, they give the Holy Grail a run for their money..

PSD4 was my No 1 until I tried a Montecristo #3,
Honorable mention Bolivar PC, RASS.

BTW, Anyone seen an uptick in confiscations?
Mine running about 25% lately.

I'm sure that % will jump when/if this new legislation (or whatever it's called) passes through on premium cigars

Is there any legal issues or they just take them. I have afew Cubans, but I got them at my local BM. I have been curious about ordering them, but nervous about what would happen.

Jamie, B&M in my home town ALSO keeps a lrg.cardboard box down on wood floor with about a half dozen @ any given time in it with some aged CC's....box codes etc. on boxes. He charges a flat $13 ea. And rings up as " special cigar" I've scored a few Very Tasty sticks there while home visiting. After making a rather lrg Bourbon purchase one day a few yrs back, the owner popped in the humi and shared this info with me. Again just for his regular or returning customers. I have found well aged HDM's / RyJ / Parti's / ERDM 's and more, just depends...

MC Joyita- real good... as usual.
Quintero-'03... surprisingly decent smoke- certainly not just a yard gar (other than its price of around $2).

Robert, I smoked a Quintero Favorito's from"10" gifted by a gentleman on another board and Really liked it. Not terribly complex but very nice notes of bakers spice and nuts. Would like to get some more of them.

'05 Monte Edmundo. So smooth now, tons of cream flavor on this one.
'12 CoRo. I know people have been down on these, and I've had a few meh ones, but I think they might be starting to come around. Solid transitions from grass to honey to coffee.

'12 CoRo. Kinda lacking in the flavor department, but mostly inoffensive, I guess. I'd hoped for something more.

Cohiba's need 5+ years to sleep in order to show what they can truly become IMO. I smoked an 09 Siglo IV that was fantastic. I'm savoring my last few 08 CoRos as theyre some of the best smokes in my Vino.

Also smoked an 05 Mag 46 & a Trini Robusto T this weekend that didn't suck.

This was my first Cohiba. I have a small assortment of some others -- Magicos, Secretos, etc. -- that I will try to leave alone for that long. I'm not quite at the stage where I can imagine that, though -- I've only been smoking for about 10 months now. But we'll see.

I have the sense that flavors mellow over time, and perhaps mesh together in a more harmonious way. The problem with this one, for me, was that it just didn't have enough flavor to start with, so any additional mellowing would only make matters worse, it seems. But maybe there's some alchemy there that I'm overlooking. Or maybe I just got a bad stick, Cuba being Cuba, etc.

Anyone get any Party Shorts recently? Still as consistent and good out of the box as they were in the past? Have an event later this summer and need some that don't require long aging.

And he brings up a great point. I remember just a few short years ago when the Spazz would do nothing but bash Cuban tobacco.
