The Lyre of Orpheus.

When Nick Cave is good, he's good. But a lot sucks. Love his soundtrack for the Jesse James movie a while back though. Totally different than his other stuff. Just beautiful.

Got both!

What I'm listening to is what old Genesis, Yes and Frank Zappa would sound like if they were to sit down and make music!

Not listening to it yet, but I picked up a copy of Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures on 180 gram vinyl yesterday. Am going to Record City (on Sahara in Vegas) this morning.

How old am I? I am in Vegas this week, and what I am most excited about is that I get to go record shopping.

kind of ironic, but today I listened to Jimmy Rogers and Jimmie Rodgers. One an electric blues guitar pioneer and the other a country music innovator.

Was TRYING to listen to Allison Krauss but there's some balding, cubicle-dwelling wannabe badazz cruising back and forth, up and down our street on his midlife motorcycle revving and roaring so loudly we have to SHOUT to the people sitting in the same room with us. If we go out on the lawn and pretend to be impressed, will he go away?

HE's probably listening to ABBA.

Sigh
