Here's the proposition: bring back corporal punishment, to the home and to the school. This will curtail bad manners, oafish children, disrepect for others, and the general degradation of civility. I can remember when the "board of education" was a paddle. Howza 'bout you?

Back to the subject -- I AGREE! Nothing straightened me out better than getting my butt busted. Kids today have no fear of that. Schools won't do it -- this gives us more reason to do it in the home; after all, the home is where learning should begin. I love my kids with all my heart, and I think they know that's the reason I spank them when it's necessary. Too bad schools wimped out. They wimped out on prayer too. Any correlation?

Don't agree with the schools doing it. Who's to say that some guy won't get carried away? It's tough enough keeping our kids away from all the perverts, we don't need to question how hard they're being disciplined by others. At home, however, is a different story. Too many people not only fail to fully discipline their kids, but they chastize those that do! Then they wonder why their kids won't behave in school and look for someone to blame. There is always someone else to blame...

I'm all for corporal punishment, specifically in the home where disciple and respect for other members of society is supposed to be taught. My wife and I sucessfully raised three kids without ever having to get them out of jail or begging the school to let them back in as a result of a suspension because we applied a little physical force to their behinds when the situation called for it. But now, with HITLERY(spelling is correct) Clinton and her "tree-hugging, save the whales" followers preaching about "it takes a village..." a number of parents are just plain worried about being prosecuted for child abuse. Who said society was going to the dogs?
