Smores Cookies

Oven at 350

Slice N Bake Chocolate Chip cookies
large marshmallow (16)
Candy Melts (available at cake decorating stores,
some groceries, and craft store like Michaels)

Divide cookie dough in 1/2, then in 1/2(1/4) then in
1/2 (1/8) then quarter
Should have 32 pieces

slice marshmallows in half so you end up with 2 disks.

Bake at 350 for 9 minutes 2 inches apart
Top with 1 slice marshmallow (I do sticky side down)
Bake at 350 for 2 minutes (marshmallow will puff up)

Remove to cool (I line a table with aluminum foil)

Melt candy melts per package direction (I use a zip lock)

When melted, seal zip lock, cut off corner, and
drizzle candy coating on cookies. Allow to harden.

I use dark cocoa candy melt, but at Christmas, I use Red and Green.

Once you know how easy they are... you find yourself making them time and time again.

Talk to Tank. I just do the baking. (though if it is too hot in the house, it might take a few extra days to get them out)

They look hard, but are sooo easy. My daughter made some when she was 12.

Try them. You'll love them.

I make them in double and quadruple (ok, triple too)batches. Then I take boxes up to the local bowling alley. They usually disappear very quickly.

Maybe some day, I'll tell you about the snickers cookies.....

Snickers cookies - buried in the middle of those lumpy looking chocolate chip cookies is a small bite of snickers heaven.

Maybe I will post that recipe next week. Keeps the suspence up.

Snickers Cookies

Oven 350

Slice and Bake Chocolate chip cookies
a bag of the snicker bite (the really little ones), unwrapped

slice per package directions
place candy in center and wrap cookie dough around it sealing it in.

Bake at 350 about 15 minutes.
Cool on a flat surface (If you use wire racks, the candy might fall out)

Could probably do this with other candy bars too. I happen to like snickers.

No pics available.

Made both of these for the Midwest herf 2. Serious damage to the packages taken, but did receive a marriage proposal after the proposer had a snickers cookie.
I had to decline, my husband and his wife would probably have objected.

Glad you enjoyed them.

I topped this so that some of the attendees could find the recipes.

Anybody else tried them yet?

Right on, edbug. Those little gems are to die for! They certainly made my long drives over the moraine terrain of the upper Midwest even more relaxing and enjoyable. One of the main keys of success to dem 'Smores are its foundation - the soft cookies which lay beneath. They were worth every bit - and even more - of my trade with The Tankster.

BTW edbug, where's the photo of your raffle booty at Appleton Souvenir & Cigar???

I'm still stuck on the direction, "bake at 350 for 9 minutes 2 inches apart."

Is that vertical or horizontal? Is that from the edge of the pan, the oven wall or the burner?

Thanks for the recipe. My birthday is closer than you think!
