^ I think it’s only on occasion. I’ve got some of the broadleaf ones. I’ve smoked the original band but I don’t think they’re always available

Looks like it was a limited release in 2022 while I was still on my 5 year no buying cigars and rarely smoking bullchit. I missed out on a lot.

Kinda spicy, kinda sweet, kinda earthy, got that heavy creamy oily mouthfeel with the smoke. No substitute for a Jalapa wrapper…and at CBid I can get these under $3 per stick

82740: Espinosa Laranja Reserva Azulejo Toro (6.0"x52)

Nice smoke, full bodied and peppery w/that sour Sumatra wrapper.
The Espinosa 601 Blue BP Maddie has a Connie BL wrapper, IMO more salt and molasses flavors. Wondering if there are any other brothers out there w/opinion on Espinosa

Can compare this to Cuba Libre The Brute (Nestor Plasencia) which has Habano Maddie wrapper - but I think they changed it to an Corojo recently with name change to Cuba Libre ONE - and an “in between “ flavor profile of the Laranja Azuelejo and 601.
The Nica Libre Maduro has a MSA wrapper and though it has medium “strength” the body and flavor have more salt and molasses than the others I’ve mentioned.
The Nica Libre Oliva has a Nic Habano wrapper, stronger and full bodied.

Sancho Panza double Maddie has Honduran Oscuro wrapper, smoother but plenty of strength and body, more coffee and earth and less molasses. All of the cigars mentioned come in a Corona or Robusto box pressed vitola…or at least they recently did. I know they’re always changing things.

Anyway, hoping to hear your opinions.

EDIT: I may rearrange this to say the Espinosa 601 Blue has more salt, molasses and mineral tastes

Over the years I've smoked many of the Espinosa lines. They've all been at least decent cigars, especially for the money. My faves have been the Laranja Reserva, 601 La Bomba, La Crema, and Habano...

the Comfortably Numb lines were among my regular rotation of "walking sticks"...sometimes I feel like smoking a cigar while walking, but don't want to risk messing up a "good" cigar...cigars that were well priced so it wouldn't be a catastrophe if you had to ditch it prematurely... solidly constructed with ample flavor to hold up regardless of weather conditions...

Thanks, Delta. I’ve tried several Espinosa blends and I have quite a few in storage that I haven’t made it to yet, including 2 out of the 3 blends Comfortably Numb. I do like Espinosa cigars and I agree they are well made and beautiful sticks. It seems like Espinosa has a fairly narrow flavor profile. Even the La Crema seemed like a pepper bomb but I smoked it ROTT more or less. I have the Habano but I have not fired those up yet, I’m hoping to find a different profile with those.

82742 Room 101 Farce Maduro

Had to buy these to get a deal on some Opus. 2 Opus in a $40 fiver. Wasn't sure how these would be. This one's good. Big peppery powerhouse to start, faded into a pleasant earthy tone with enough caramel to balance, little cedar wood in the finish. Dunno what they cost but if $5-6 on sale I'd call it good. I wouldn't seek em out tho, still a bit above my comfort zone. Katman rated it a 60. I think it's much more better than that.

82744 AJ Fernandez New World Dorado perfecto.

Starts off dry woody astringent and I'm not enjoying it. Well see where it goes. AJ pepper is present as well.

But I struggle to get past the tannins/astringent aspect of whatever leaf brings that to the table. If I can identify it, I'd save a lot of time and money.

It's a good to excellent cigar no doubt. I only lit the little nipple tip of the foot and no touchups. Some flavor shifts happened after first ash drop but the astringency remains so it got tossed.

I like it but it feels restrained. Like it's missing the highs/bright notes. Loads of nuts n baking spices, bready character. I like it, it's good.

Ok, I guess 5 months napping is the break out for this one. I’ve been complaining about them and putting them back in storage for a month and then repeating the process. This one was flat good. Mild and mellow for sure but the delicate Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper had that umami flavor, nice hits of cedar, I thought I caught the scent of vanilla and towards the end a bit of anise. I don’t like anise but I give credit for the flavor break out. Nice creamy mouthfeel with the smoke. I’m very satisfied and very surprised. 5 months minimum for me.

Itty bitty little smoke, with a shocking amount of smoke production and flavor. Tbh it doesn’t make sense. Great stick, thanks!

I like these a lot more than I think I should.

But I also won't pay more than $4per, at $4per it's an excellent cigar.

I'm in the same boat. I really like them for a small cigar, but don't want to pay for them.

82768 - La Mission L'Atelier 1959 romusto. Stogie turned me on to one of these a few months ago, and I liked it and bought some. It was good. Huge blast of pepper at first, but it calms down a little. Still a full-bodied little bugger though.

Oh, and jeebs, I don't think of my pants as fancy but more as elegant and resplendent.

82769 Papas Fritas H99.

These I did pay $5per. I like it less than the regular. More woody and astringent. Still decent but won't buy again. Didn't like the full size H99 I had in blind review so that's not surprising.

Unfortunately I rushed this one. It needed to dry out a bit more and therefore didn’t burn well or taste good. I’m taking the hit as operator error.
